It was already three days and she hadn't reached the royal capital. The journey should have mostly taken a day by horse or carriage but feet, it mostly depends on your speed. It was also a problem since her parents looking all around for her with wanted posters everywhere. She found it difficult to even escape her hometown since her face was still recognizable. She finally made it to the borders of royal capital after five days only to encounter a search. Only women were the ones being searched for so she knew what all this was about. Her father might have sent his men to search for her here too. How could she get into the capital now that she was being searched for ? She was so close to achieving her dream and she wasn't ready to give up. She took out a pen knife she always kept with her from her side bag her only possession. Likewise, she cut her hair short and visited a poor lady at the border exchanging clothes with her. Furthermore, she wore the dirty pantyhose and used coal all over her to hide as possible. Her final disguise was with a ragged cloak. She covered herself with it saying her final prayers before joining the queue. Her heart raced till it was her turn to be inspected.

"Madam please can you take off your cloak so we could search you", one guard ordered. She stood there timidly not knowing what to do. She can't get caught now. The guard got suspicious of her as she delayed. He signalled the other guards when he sternly requested again for Aimee to take of her cloak which she didn't. The guards were ready to search her forcibly when someone placed an arm on her shoulder. For once, she thought she had been caught by the guards. "Don't worry fellas, everything is cool here. You know, my sister is deaf and dumb. So please pardon her and allow her to pass", a voice pleaded as the guards gave her a suspicious look before making way for her to pass. Once far away from the guards, she turned around to thank her saviour. It was a young man quite older than her with dirty clothes and a patched hat on. He was shorter than his age. "Thank you mister for your help back there. I'm very grateful but if I may be excused, I have to the Jewel Knights headquarters ", she addressed him ready to leave and not start any conversations since she knew it could bring trouble. "Wait up lady, I can help you "

"Thanks but no"

"I really mean it"

"You can go help someone else "

"I'm friends with the Jewel Knights "

Aimee paused in her tracks and stared at him.

"If you're lying to me, mister , you better start running cause I hate liars ", she threatened. The man had both hands up and Aimee pointed at his nose.

"Trust me on this ", Aimee concluded with the man in the exact position.

"I'm Jonas Devlas. What's yours if I may ask ? It won't be right to call you lady since we are now friends ", Jonas said stretching for a handshake. Aimee stared at him for a moment and began moving. Jonas still followed behind her asking her for her name. This man was torture if he didn't know. He was like a flea that would stick on you after a shower. Aimee, fed up with this, angry faced him.

"Look here mister Jonas Devlas "

"You kept my name in mind "

"Just shut up .first of all ,we are not friends "

"Why then"

"Why because I'm not explaining myself to a total stranger I just met not more than thirty seconds ago"

"Oh,that makes sense "

"And since you are a total stranger I'm not telling you my name. You may just call me Sparrow "

"Sparrow "

"Yes Sparrow "

"As in the small brown and grey bird"

"What part of sparrow don't you understand "

"Then since we'll be using code names "

"There's no we",Aimee corrected him .

"Since you're using a code name, why not also call me using a code name. Like crocodile , alligator, hawk , or scorpion. Maybe a cobra. No python or robin might do or ..."

"Will you just shut up. You're so annoying ", Aimee said frustrated as Jonas still followed behind deciding on what name to use. This was going to be a long , frustrating and tiring journey with this maniac
