His Anomaly

His Anomaly

Is BL too cliche?

John was an ordinary young man living in a world that seemed to be obsessed with BL manga or boys' love. Everywhere he looked, he saw conventions and tropes that he found frustratingly ridiculous. He wasn't interested in romance - especially not with another man - and found the entire subject matter to be juvenile and uninteresting.

John often found himself commenting on the trends he saw in the world around him. He couldn't resist offering his opinion on every new BL manga series that had come out or every new romance trope that had become popular. People often pushed back against him, telling him that he just didn't understand the beauty of love between two men.

But John didn't want any part of it. He was perfectly content living his life as a single guy who worked a regular job and enjoyed his hobbies. He didn't need a romantic partner to be happy, and he certainly didn't need a boyfriend who was more interested in playing out tropes from a manga series than in having an authentic relationship.

One day, John met a man named David. David was sweet, kind, and attentive. He was nothing like the boys in the BL manga that John saw everywhere. David seemed to truly care about John as a person, and showed him that not all relationships were built on stereotypes and tropes.

John tried to keep his distance at first, but he couldn't help but be drawn to David's sweet nature. Their conversations were easy and effortless, and John found himself looking forward to their next outing together.

However, David had some jealousy issues, and this made John uncomfortable. He wasn't used to feeling possessiveness from a partner and the idea of being controlled because of that was completely foreign to him.

David had noticed that John had a great deal of admiration for the male lead in one of the popular BL manga series, and this made him worried he wasn't good enough. This, however, was far from the truth as John unknowingly was smitten with David

John tried to explain to David that he wasn't interested in other men except him in any romantic or sexual way, but David refused to hear it. He became more and more possessive each day, insisting that John stop obsessing over fictional men and pay attention to him instead.

As the relationship progressed, John began to feel trapped. He found David's jealousy to be suffocating and the constant pressure to be something he wasn't left him feeling drained and unhappy.

Eventually, John sat down with David and had a heart to heart conversation. He explained that he wasn't interested in men in bl and never had been. He had only commented on the trends and tropes he saw around him because he found them to be amusing - not because he wanted to live out his fantasies.

David was hurt by the news, but he understood where John was coming from. He realized that his possessiveness had made John feel uncomfortable, and he apologized for overreacting.

From that point on, their relationship became more relaxed and natural. He stepped back and allowed John to be himself, without any pressure or expectation to be something he wasn't.

In the end, John and David both married . They both learned something valuable: it's important to be true to oneself and not to force oneself into a mold that doesn't fit.
