Chapter 04 | Present

It's been 3 months since we visited Neha's house, after looking

at their family background we gave a green signal to their marriage and vice

versa from them. Everything happened in such a hurry. Tomorrow is their

engagement ceremony. In the past 3 months, we met the Neha family 2 more times.

I was busy with guest and engagement preparations that I didn't talk much with

Pavan. Thanks to Sanjay for helping me to manage the preparation work. All work

has been completed. I hope everything will be good for tomorrow.

 We were worried

about the guests and rituals. Luckily the engagement ceremony has been

completed without any problem. Both Rakshit & Neha were looking perfect to

each other.  My son got engaged to my favorite student I just blissed out.

A tear rolls down my face, Sanjay looks at me with eyes full of worry. I

replied saying "It's tears of joy".  When I turn around Pavan

was standing in front of me. Our eyes met, and we both smile.  After

giving farewell to all the guests we are all were very tired and wanted to

rest. Two hours left for us to check out from the Hotel.

Pavan came in front of me and started saying in a teasing way

" It's just an engagement and you are already crying Beegati?".

(Beegati & Beegare is a Kannada honorific word used to represent in-laws)

"What to do Beegare, not everyone is strong as you" I replied.  Pavan says "Of course, I don't have to

worry" I look at him with amusement.  I asked him why "My daughter is getting married to my one and only

best friend's son. Why should I even worry!" he answered with pride.

Listening to his

explanation and I laughed. "Sorry I don't know you, by the way, who are

you?" I replied.  After silence for

a few minutes finally, opened his mouth and tries to say something. At the same

time, Sanjay calls me. I look toward Sanjay answering that I will be coming. I

turn around back to Pavan saying "We will talk later. I will be leaving

now.  Beegareee" in the same teasing

way as him.

We both laugh at each

other. Then went to the room where Sowmya & Neha were sitting and I inform

them that we are leaving the Hotel. Informed them to call me when they reach

home. My family was waiting for me at the entrance, I get into the car as soon

as I reached the entrance. We reached home after a long journey. I was very

tired, so went straight to my room.

I received a message

from an unknown number saying Hi. I checked the name in True Caller it was

showing Pavan Rao. I received another message asking "Have you reached

home Beegati?" This message confirmed that this is Pavan. I replied,

" Yes, what about you Beegare?" Another message arrived from

him" Yes, we have reached" As was already tired I replied,

"Okay, Beegare Bye". He replied "Bye, Beegati”.

Sanjay was curious why

I was smiling while looking at my phone. I asked him "Why are you looking

at me like that?".  He said,

“Nothing, I am curious about your smile”. I replied that was just chatting with

my friend. He nods and says food is delivered. As I had no energy to prepare

the dinner, we ordered it from our favourite restaurant.  After having dinner, we all slept early

because we had work tomorrow.
