The one - chapter 1

It was a rainy night, a girl was down the street, sitting on a bench while crying without any umbrella or rain coat to protect her from the rain.

A guy passed by and saw her, so he got out of his car and came to her with an umbrella, and asked...

"What's wrong? Why are you crying?", he asked.

The girl said...

"I lost my job, I lost my house, My dog just died, and my boyfriend cheated on me. I lost everything", *sob* *sob* *sob*, she answered while crying.

The guy knew she was a complete stranger but he pitied her, for that also happened to him once. So he offered her a job and said... "

I am sorry for what had happened, say what, how about you work as my maid since we're short in staff, you can also stay there", he smiled.

The girl accepted it since she has no other choice.

When they came there a butler came and greeted them, the girl was shocked and mesmerized on how big that house was, it was no ordinary house but a mansion. She finnaly realized that the one who hired her was not a ordinary guy but a CEO.

The guy formally introduced himself as Arthur Hansley a handsome and wealthy CEO. Arthur Hansley said, to just call him Arthur and asks for her name.

The girl introduces herself as Ashley Raven.

Arthur asked the butler to take Ashley to her room, and there she started to work hard but had not made that many friends.

Ever since she came the other maids started to envy her for how Arthur treats her so well. Everytime when Arthur comes back from work, he always compliments her for her work and has never gotten mad at her.

Once, when she was cleaning the hallway, a maid came and mocked her about her past and accidentaly broke a vase.

When Arthur and the others came, they asked who did it. The maid blamed Ashley and told them..

"She did it! She's the one broke the vase! I was cleaning the hallway when she started to argue with me and broke the vase!", the maid said, while Ashley was standing there with a tears in her eye, and her hand and feet injured from the vase.

Arthur looked at the maid in disbelief, and glanced at Ashley.

Seeing Ashley's condition made Arthur mad, he slapped her in the face and fired her. Ashley and the others who were watching the scene were shocked about Arthur's decision.

Arthur hurriedly carried her in his arm to his room and called for the doctor.

"Why?... Why did you do it?", Ashley asked.

"Can't I? It was obvious that the maid was lying, just by looking at your condition", Arthur said.

*badum* *badum*

This made Ashley blush, and made her feel safe for once.

1 year passed after that incident and Ashley and Arthur became closer than before. One day a friend of Arthur came to visit him after a long time, her name was Brianna Quinn, She's a famous actor and a singer in their country.

Arthur was surprised by her sudden visit and asked the butler to prepare them some tea.

The butler asked Ashley to prepare some tea, and while preparing, she heard some gossips about Arthur and Brianna's relationship, and heard they were friends since they were kids and are very close. These gossips made Ashley's heart to ache.

When she brought the tea to where Arthur and Brianna are discussing, she saw both of them k!$$|ng. She accidentaly dropped the teas, and ran outside the mansion crying.

Arthur saw her and pushed Brianna aside, he chased Ashley but lost her. He desperately finds her, and did not came back until he has found her.

And finnaly, he finds her, crying while sitting on a bench. Arthur went to her and said...

"Ashley... its not what it looks like, she just leaned on to me and k¡55ed me. Please Ashley, please, please believe me, just this one time".

"Why? *sob* *sob* how? How? Can I believe you? You already hurted me enough, im afraid that you'll hurt me again, *sob* *sob* ", Ashley said.

"Ashley... please, Im sorry, Im really sorry, but please just trust me, Ashley...I-I love you, I really do", Arthur said while hugging her tightly.

Ashley bursts into tears, she doesn't know what to say. After minutes of crying, it started to rain and Ashley fell asleep on Arthur's hand full of tears from her eyes, seeing this made Arthur feel sad and angry at the same time.

Arthur took his jacket off and put it on Ashley to protect her from the rain, and he carried her on his arm back to the mansion.

When they came back the servants started to panic, because Arthur was wet, but he didn't care at all. Arthur braught Ashley to his room and asked them to prepare a warm bath and also prepare some clothes for Ashley.

When Ashley woke up, she saw Arthur sleeping worriedly beside her. She then thought about what he said, and pats him on his head, and then said...

"I... love you too", while tears coming from her eyes.

Arthur heard what she said, and pulled her hand to kiss her. Not knowing that Brianna saw and heard everything that had happened outside the door. This made Brianna furious and envy her even more, this is because Brianna liked him ever since they were just kids but Arthur doesn't like her back.

"Now that everything is settled, Ashley, will you be my girlfriend? I promise to protect and to always love you", Arthur said.

Tears started to fall out of her eyes again and said.

"Yes, yes Arthur I'll be your girlfriend".

After hearing everything Brianna left the mansion without saying anything and never came back.

And finnaly after many years, they got married and live Happily Ever After.
