Prologue

I live in a region inside a world named Enchancia, where magic and princess exist. But in this world that seems perfect there are flaws, trust me. People scheme, cheat and bargain. Enchania is always in conflict, but no one knows.

My name is Ariana, I am turning 18 in a month and am the crown princess of Asterin. I have blond hair that I didn’t inherit from my mother or father and light blue eyes. Everyone says I remind them of the sun. I have always had a very warm personality. But as the princess people usually try to stay away.

I have excelled in everything since I was a child and was called a prodigy countless times. But that’s not true, even as a child I practiced piano for countless hours until I got better. My mother and father have always been cold to me and made every decision for me. For me there were no breaks, when I had finished my homework, there was always more. When i went to sleep, I memorized chords in my dream. No one knew what’s took to become the “prodigy”.

My family isnt big and I don’t spend much time with them because I always have duties but I love my little siblings all the same. They are younger than me and are extremely naughty. I have a two brothers and a sister. Edward and Leon are twins so both 14. Regan is 11 and super adorable. My father is king Malik and my mother queen Elena. We live in Asterin Castle but it’s not just us here, we have about 100 servants. The final addition to my family are our pets, Mylo our golden retriever and Misty our cat.

I attend regal academy with my friends Miranda, Liyah, Henry, Rian and Jake. It’s a high school for royals coming from all 8 regions. The 8 regions are, Asterin, Zemira, Evander, Daesyn, Kahlo, Caelum, Pendilor, and Nidavel. Oryn isnt included in the 8 regions because no one is sure it exists. It is the region in the sky, there is said to be a few princess and princes that are selected to go every century to attend. But the kingdoms who receive the invatation are sworn to secrecy.

In a few days there is going to be a big ball where I am supposed to meet my betrothed. Everyone I think about being married I want to barf. I am going to meet the man I’m going to be ruling Asterin with only a few days before we get married. When father told me I almost chocked on my saliva. I have never lost my composure but I a yelled at my father and mother that day. After that I stormed off, I would never ever marry someone I don’t love that was the only boundary I had. At night when I could fall asleep my maid Lucy would come in and read me fairytale. Ever since a child I had always wanted to find my true love. I had so many duties to my country but not this. That evening my father came to my room and told me how we were going to war with Zemira if I didn’t marry ther prince. I don’t know if it was to threaten, inform or whatever but it worked. My father left the room that night his mission accomplished and I was left sobbing.

I had no hope of ever having freedom or true love.
