College Euphoria
PANDORA'S POV
This is it. I'm finally here. After 4 years of hell, otherwise known as high school, I've finally made it to college. If only those "popular bitches" could see me now.
I continue to stare at the Carmichael University notice board as I make sure I've memorized any notices that might hold some importance to me. I glance down at my wristwatch to make sure I'm not late for class.
Still got 10 minutes to burn.
The university is everything I dreamed of and more. From Victorian style buildings to the modern decor of each class. The hostels aren't that bad either. Oh who am I kidding? THEY'RE GORGEOUS.
They're just about as large as an apartment in the upper East side of Manhattan. My roommates though...let's just not go there. I haven't had a chance to meet a lot of students. I've only met a handful at the cafeteria for breakfast.
It's kind of a bummer because I was hoping to meet a lot of guys here. I know what you're wondering.
Why work so hard to get into one of the top universities if only to meet guys?
First of all, I worked my butt off because I want a bright future for myself and second, hell I did it to meet some hot guys. I'm hoping to hook up with the hottest guy I can find as soon as possible.
Let me explain why. Before I completed my senior year, my boyfriend Zack cheated on me with my best friend and got her pregnant. As if that wasn't enough, the whole school knew about it except me.
If that doesn't put a huge dent to your self confidence I don't know what does. After wallowing in self pity for a couple of months I decided that enough was enough. I was going to get into the best university in the country and I would hook up with as many guys as I want.
Now I know that probably makes me sound like a slut but the truth is I just don't the want to get into a serious relationship again. I just wanted to meet a guy who could **** my brains out and act like I'm his best friend afterwards. No drama.
The bell goes off pulling me from my thoughts. Shit. I am going to be late for my first class. Not an impression I wanted to leave on the professor.
I race to my class which takes me a total of 2 minutes. Go me!
I do a last minute check of myself. My lilac summer dress is not too short, just coming a few inches above my knees. My shoes aren't half bad considering I'm wearing heels which weren't really my forte a couple of months ago.
But you know what they say, practice makes perfect.
I take a deep breath, turned the doorknob and walked in. All eyes in the room are on me making me fidget a little.
"So nice of you to join us Ms.?" The professor asks pausing for me to give him my name.
"Fiori." I answer quickly wanting the sudden attention off me.
He adjusts his glasses as he regards me, it's only then that I take a good look at him and boy did I look. He has a head of really blonde hair that glows like a halo. It's styled in a way that a bit of it lies across his forehead nearly covering one of his gorgeous almond shaped blue eyes.
His body was well built. Probably visits the gym seven times a week. His nose was slightly crooked and his skin perfectly tan. He wore a royal blue dress shirts tucked into black dress pants with oxfords on his feet. A look that I'm pretty sure only he could pull off.
"Ms. Fiori."
I wonder what secrets those pieces of clothing are hiding under there.
"Ms. Fiori?"
He has to have a killer backside. And damn is it me or do his glasses make him even hotter.
"Ms. Fiori!"
I blink a few times to find that the professor has asked me the same question 5 times.
"I'm sorry, what was that?"
I'm still staring at his lips as I ask this question and I think I notice a slight tug at the corner of his mouth.
"I said that you can sit next to Lucas since it's the only seat available."
I look up to his face and realize that he's noticed me checking him out for atleast 5 minutes. I feel the heat rush up my chest to my ears and know that I must be the colour of a fire hydrant.
Hiding behind my long dark hair, I quickly make my way to my seat and pull out the necessary books for the lesson. The professor goes on teaching, while half the class consisting of mainly females, hangs on to his every word.
I swear if he ordered them to set themselves on fire, they'd fight each other to death trying to find a lighter.
I'm quite the hypocrite. Listen to me judge these girls when I'm practically swimming in my own drool. The bright side is, I know how to do it under the radar.
"Hey," says a deep voice next to me. It's only then that I turn to face him.
"Hi I'm Lucas," he whispers as he extends his hand out to shake mine.
"Pandora," I say back as shake his hand. I feel heat rise once again at my ignorance of my classmate for the semester.
"That's a really unique name. Freshman right?" he gives me a crooked grin and I nod and also notice that he's not bad looking. He has a closely cropped brown hair, dark obsidian eyes and he's wearing a varsity jacket with blue jeans and black boots.
He's hot too...just not "professor hot".
"That was quite the entrance you made," he laughs. I shake my head in embarassment.
"Not really the impression I wanted to leave on my first day."
He shrugs off my comment," Oh don't worry about that. Mr. DeAngelo is chill dude. Probably the coolest professor on campus."
DeAngelo. The name just rolls off my tongue like a forbidden word.
" Probably?"
Lucas gives me a shy grin as he rubs the back of his neck. " Well almost every girl on campus wants to get in his pants." I raise a brow, " Almost every girl."
"Well I got to you first, didn't I?"
Cocky. I kinda like it. "What makes you think that it isn't the other way around?" I decide to meet his cockiness head on.
His eyes considerably darken as they roam over my body. This makes me fidget a bit. Thankfully his lustful gaze is broken by an angry voice.
"Mr. Williams, will you please stop harassing Ms. Fiori and pay attention to the lesson."
I find Mr. DeAngelo staring at us in fury. I visibly gulp down. I don't want him mad at me. Crap.
Awesome first day Pandora.
It's almost a blessing sent straight from heaven when Mr. DeAngelo declares the lesson over. Everyone begins to shuffle out of the room.
"Don't forget to read chapters 1 through 8 as there'll be a test in three weeks..." He calls over the hurried heads.
I quickly pack my books and pick my bag ready to head to my next class until Lucas grabs my hand. "Hey do you wanna have lunch with me later?" He asks with hopeful eyes.
I nod thinking nothing of it. He smiles.
"Cool. Let's meet at the cafe-"
"...Ms. Fiori can you stay back a few minutes? I'd like to have a word with you." Mr. DeAngelo's voice cuts through the air like broken glass.
Lucas give me an apologetic smile as he walks out. I'm left alone standing in the front row feeling both exhilarated and terrified of what's to come. He's probably just gonna give me some notes I need to write. That's it.
Nothing to worry about. If that's the case, why does the look he's giving me look like I'm about to receive the lecture of a lifetime.
He gestures with his index finger for me to go towards his desk. With each step I take, each clicking sound my heels make, I can't help but think I am so royally screwed.
