4. The Heart Threads

The pretty male inhales deeply as he stands in front of the elevator door waiting for it to spread out when he hears the clicking sound signalling that he has reached his desired floor.

The door opens and he lets out his whiff, eyes rolling around to scan the site as he steps out of the elevator. A smile found its way to his lips slowly.

Getting to work after a long break, with new people and new challenges. He has always loved his work, enjoyed it. It feels so good to be able to get back at what he loves doing.

Taehyung sees a tall handsome man approaching his direction, dressed in a black tuxedo.

“Good Morning! Uhm - the new designer?”

Taehyung’s attention gets enmeshed in the soft cute dimples that showed up on the man’s cheeks when he greeted him with a fond smile. A genuine one. Taehyung would want to touch those dimples with his fingers.

“Good Morning. Yeah. Myself Kim Taehyung”

“Welcome to The Heart Threads, Mr Kim. Myself Namjoon. I'm the secretary here. Pleased to meet you” says the dimple guy as they both shake their hands. Taehyung finds himself getting overly lost in the man’s dimple smile.

“Please welcome in, I'll show you around and get you to introduce yourself” The man was too sweet for someone who was allocated to the position of boss’s secretary. Taehyung has heard and learned boss’ secretaries are always the bítchy people. He says that of an experience with his ex.

He shakes his head trying to concentrate on whatever the man has to say.

“Yeah, sure. Thank you”

They walk along before standing in the centre of a huge space. Taehyung could see the staff getting up from their seats immediately with curious eyes on him. This place was beautiful and aesthetic. Completely different from his old office room. This place was ornate with tiny plants in each corner of a desk, and cute miniature figures were placed too.

“Everyone! This is Kim Taehyung. Our new designer. Please make him feel comfortable.” everyone smiles at him welcoming him and Taehyung suddenly feels nervous getting all the attention on him as everyone gathers to greet.

Namjoon looks back at him with pleading eyes making Taehyung confused.

“I'm sorry. I have to leave you to them for now. I need to go get all the documents from our lawyers urgently since the CEO won't be joining us from tomorrow.” taehyung doesn't understand why Namjoon was apologizing for doing his work but he has other confusion to ask about for now.

“Huh? What do you mean the boss won't join us from tomorrow?” he wonders if anything is wrong with their Boss. He had just joined the office and already a bad news about their boss?

“Not the boss. The CEO. Our boss is the CEO’s son. The CEO took retirement just days ago. So I have to legally get all the documentation and signature down under our boss’s name before he gets back from the states” Namjoon explains and Taehyung nods in interpretation. Tae can see the secretary in a hurry as his eyes were scanning around hastily.

“Hoseok, can you please show him his cabinet? He is Taehyung.Thank you. I need to rush. I will see you around.” He exclaims with pleading eyes to the man who just walked out with a cold coffee. Taehyung wonders if Namjoon is the most polite and humble human in this office. Jimin and he would always lose their patience while working. But his doubts escalated when the man, namjoon just mentioned stood in front of him with a radiant smile reaching out to shake his hands with Taehyung.

“ Hey! Hoseok, the assistant director. Nice to meet you, Taehyung” the man exhilarated without letting go of Taehyung’s hand as he turned them around to walk towards a certain direction.

“Hie.” says with his eyebrows creased. The man looks too comfortable with someone he just met.

“Your cabinet is just opposite mine. Feel free to come to me if you need anything. You appeared like a lost puppy looking at everyone here.” Hoseok teased with a chuckle before sipping his coffee.

“Did I ?” taehyung ponders.

“It's okay. I can understand it's your first day here. Don't worry people here are welcoming. Make yourself comfortable. Do you want some coffee” Hoseok offers him with a grin just to have Taehyung give a weird look at the coffee glass

“No thanks, I'm not a coffee person for sure.” taehyung hates coffee and anything that tastes bitter or anything that is not sweet.

“Really? I'm surprised people can say no to coffee.” the man shrugs leading Taehyung inside his cabinet.

Taehyung looks around to find a decently decorated room with a small table and chair. Other equipments were kept around the room as if it was some exhibition place. Taehyung already loves the environment here. His vibes match the place.

“By the way how old are you?” hoseok asks gaining tae’s attention back

“Don't people usually ask where they have worked before?” tae chuckles a little at the earlier question.

“Oh? Do they? But I don't. I don't believe in living in past so why would we talk about what we did in the past? You are in a new place and a better one. Right? Far better than your old place. Isn't it why you choose to join The Heart Threads? “ tae can't disagree with the man. He surely knows how to use his words and Taehyung would lie if he said he wasn't impressed with this man.

“That makes sense. You know how to use words in a wise way” Taehyung nodes in agreement.

“I should. After all, I'm the sunshine of this office. I need to rise and shine and bring joy to this place with my smile and words” Hoseok smiles proudly with his chin up as his eyes squint in a cute way. Now that Taehyung notices, Hoseok got a tiny dimple too besides his lips when he tightly presses them.

“Did you like this place or not?” the question brings taehyung back from his dimple crushing.

“I'm loving this place already. Thank you for helping me with my cabinet. By the way, I'm 27” Taehyung gets comfortable as he walks around the space to get acquainted.

“Oh wow. I'm 28. Which means I'm older than you. You can call me hyung-

the words died when the cabinet door was pushed open harshly and in entered another handsome man. Wow taehyung thinks he really got god’s favourite suddenly when he has been running into handsome guys a lot these days.

“Jung Hoseok! How dare you not inform me, Namjoon left the office already!? -Oh who is this new face?” taehyung gets conscious when the man looks at him with his blaming eyes. Taehyung swears the man looks more handsome with anger on his face.

“Did you get me a competitor? Jokes on you 'cause I'll always be the most handsome in this office.” the man announces and taehyung shares a look with hoseok who looks done with whatever was happening. Taehyung haven't even uttered a word but was already part of their discussion - oh accusation.

“And still Namjoon doesn’t acknowledges your handsome face.” hoseok provokes and Taehyung could feel how the other man’s facial expression shrinks. Taehyung feels bad even when he doesn't know the context.

“Ouch, that hurts hoba” the man exclaims looking down but suddenly looks up with conviction and confidence.

“Nevermind. Hi, I'm the most handsome man here. Kim Seokjin. You are handsome too but not handsome as me. You can have the second position. First is always reserved for me”

Taehyung blinks at the sudden mood change. But he likes this man for some reason he doesn't know. Maybe the way he looks so confident about himself and Taehyung can see himself getting to know this person more.

“You are indeed Handsome Mr Kim. I'm Taehyung Kim. The new designer” Taehyung smiles. Everything is weird but weird in a good way. It's good to be around weird people. Jimin and he will get so much to talk about after their busy day.

“Hyung what are you doing here? Didn't you have a trial shoot today?” hoseok questioned as if he wants the man to leave as soon as possible and Taehyung wants to laugh at the dramatic face Hoseok just made.

“Oh. Now that you mentioned it, I was here to check upon that arrogant Kim Namjoon. That snobbish little human is ignoring my calls and texts for two days. What does he think of himself!? Huh!? What even he uses his stupid brain for!?” Seok-jin snarls fisting his palm in irritation but he looked unduly cute to the other two. Taehyung doubted if Jin was talking about the same Namjoon he met minutes ago. That man is far away from being snobbish.

Well, according to Taehyung the whole world is kind. Jimin would like to put some brain in Taehyung.

“ Hyung he is literally 5’ 11 and has a 148 IQ, what do you mean by small and stupid!” taehyung sees Hoseok rolling his eyes on Jin who just throws a glare at him. This is something fun. Taehyung is sure he won't be at least bored in this office. People here are fun to be with.

“Don't take his side just because he is your friend! You traitor.” Jin points a threatening finger at hoseok and taehyung gets more interested in their talks now.

“What did I even do now?”

“Why didn't you inform me that he left the office?”

Taehyung wants to coo at how cute Jin looks when he stands there with his both hands on his hips, head tilted a little, challengingly.

“Oh. Now I get why Namjoon was in a rush. He was actually running away from you this morning. You might have scared him away again. Better luck next time hyung” Hoseok nodes in realization before he shakes his head in pity.

“Ugh! That stupid ignorant man!” taehyung get a little startled when Jin storms onto his feet turning around to walk away.

“I'll kill him!” Jin screams as he walks away leaving behind a laughing hoseok.

“You will kill yourself first and I'm sure of that.” hoseok throws the words at Jin who has disappeared in the corridor

“ get used to it. He is our model. And this is every day’s scene in the office. Don't be too surprised, he is the eldest but acts like the youngest” Hoseok turns to Taehyung who shrugs before chuckling

“I guess I will be entertained a lot in my new job. He is cute though.” taehyung says as he gets comfortable in his seat.

“Don’t ever call him anything other than handsome. He is too obsessed with that one word” Hoseok shakes his head in a dramatic way.

“But why did Mr Namjoon run away from him?” taehyung questions out of nowhere making Hoseok smirk.

“Long story. You will get to know soon as you spent time in this office.” hoseok turns around on his heels.

“By the way, Namjoon will mail you all the previous project details so you could get an idea about the preferences.” hoseok informs taehyung as he checks upon a text he just received.

“Oh thank you. I am looking forward to working with you all guys.” taehyung was genuinely happy to be here.

“Good to know we feel the same. Get yourself comfortable, I'll get back to my cabin.” hoseok was about to leave when taehyung stands up bowing to him.

“Thank you Mr Hoseo-

“Don't need to thank me. And as I said before, call me hyung.” hoseok throws him a wink along with his sunshine smile. Taehyung shyly chuckles.

“Okay. Hyung”

💬 Chim🐥 : But I need one! Get me one and I will make him pick and drop you too. 😭 I don't wanna die alone.
