Chapter 1 The incident on Buddhist Ceremony day

In the big convention hall, there was a loud prayer of Buddhist monks. Today was a good day. So the renowned private military school invited the monks to bless them with good fortune. It was known that this school has produced a lot of talented personnel for the military for a long time. With the perfect curriculum, It attracted young kids who want to grow up in a military career. Why is that? That was because this school has new technology, gadgets, experienced teachers, and modern instructional media.

Ployrada, the female teacher couldn’t say that she was young anymore, sat up on the chair and put her palms together with respect. She prayed together with the monks. Though she was not really a religious person, since she was a Chemistry teacher. But she never resisted joining the ceremony. The Buddhist family that she grew up in was the reason.

At forty years old, she really was not young. But she still stayed single since nobody could snatch her heart. No love experience, even puppy love. She enjoyed reading during her chilling time. She didn’t have to mess with anyone and no one couldn’t disturb her either.

“Sister Ploy, Why don’t we go out for a drink today after the ceremony?” Chutima, the young librarian leaned towards her and then whispered softly. Looked like she was afraid that someone would see.

“Who will join us?” Ployrada also lowered her tone as well. She was also scared to be seen either.

“Me, brother Neung, brother Chote, brother Tad, and brother Chong” She winked at Ployrada to sign that she would drag her out together no matter what!

“Ah… I think I will pass this time. Need to go check on the laboratory.” The older girl rejected softly with the alibi that just popped out of her mind. She moved her body with an uneasy feeling.

Who would want to go since that bastard Chong also joined them?

The embarrassment was still carved on her memory. That time when she was a new teacher here, she was pursued by Chong, causing an uproar in the whole school. It was so real that she almost believed in this guy’s sweet talk. But she understood that she had a masculine body like a man. Her face was not tender and sweet like what a normal guy would like. In summary, She was ugly.

Chong tried to chase after her for around two months until one day he simply stopped talking to her. Ployrada was surprised but she had no courage to ask the guy straight out. But one day, It was like heaven joked with her. She walked past the locker room and heard the truth.

“What!? You will stop pursuing her? We thought you would win this time around.” The voice of one of the teachers broke out from the locker room.

“Why Should I? It’s horrible to see that bitch’s face. These two months were like hell. Why do I pretend to be in love with the ugly like her? I have never seen anyone uglier before. If it’s not you guys challenging me, I wouldn’t even think!” Ployrada’s face paled. Her body stood still like the electricity ran through from head to toe.

That’s Chong’s voice!

“Whatever, You lose. Hurry and pay us five thousand baht each hahaha.” Numerous laughter sounds come from the locker room with joy. But Ployrada’s heart was turned cold like a corpse’s. She couldn’t believe that someone would use her as a bet.

The girl sighed relieved, glad that she didn’t buy that guy’s sweet talk. Or she would be dumped by Chong later. How can she still teach the student here after that?

Once she thought of this incident, she just sent a light smile to Chutima. She liked this girl by her side. But she would rather die than join the drink with Chong!

“If you said so, sister Ploy. Oh, that’s right. Can you help me lock the library? I will hurry to go out once the ceremony ends. Chutima fished the library key and then passed it to Ployrada without the other side’s consent.

“Fine, fine. But you need to treat me to a cup of boba tea tomorrow. Or I will get mad” The pouting sound from Ployrada made the little girl smile and her eyes were like a crescent moon. Ployrada picked up the key and kept it together with the laboratory key.

“Roger! hehe”

“Hey, you guys, lower your voice. The dean is looking!” The warning voice from behind made them stop talking and only smiled at each other.

It was 6 P.M. until everything in the ceremony was cleared up. Ployrada patrolled the laboratory building altogether 6 floors. Once she was sure that everything was okay, she turned back, thinking of using the elevator. But at that moment, there was a shattered glass sound coming from the back. She waited for nothing and ran towards the last laboratory room.

“Who goes there!” She shouted loudly when she saw a figure in a black suit doing something suspicious in the laboratory room. Ployrada tried to catch the bad guy who barged into this military school. Though she was only a teacher now, she was once a special force who trained hard and graduated with a perfect score. She can choose to continue to be a soldier but her knowledge in science is too valuable to train a new blood. This is why she was sent to be a teacher here.

The sturdy girl shot out and exchanged blows with the intruder. But after 10 minutes of fighting, there was no sign of who would be the winner. So she understood that the person was not just some rogue. He was a trained soldier just like her. That body of his was tall and bulk like the westerner, not some Asian.

 In Ployrada's mind, she knew everything would go south if she couldn't win against this person. She needed helps!

But who would come to help her in a time like this. She stucked on the 6th floor where not even a single ghost roamed around. And definitely, the surveillance camera was destroyed by him. Since the intruder did not care when he barged into the laboratory.

"Ahg…" Ployrada vomited blood after got kicked hard on her abs. She was sent flying crash onto the glass wall. The girl's body slid down on the floor.

Wee! Wee!

The emergency alarm cried throughout the whole building. It startled both her and the intruder. Ployrada saw him catch the big bag that contained something unknown to her. He hurriedly pulled out the cable that connected some device to the lab's computer.

Ployrada's whole body was in pain. But she couldn't allow the school's research to fall under the outsider's hand. The girl gathered all energy then shot out at the intruder. Two people tried to snatch things from each other while exchanging blows. But it seemed the lady of luck wasn't standing on Ployrada's side.

Ten odd black suit people appeared from behind. Some of them held the bags just like this intruder who she fought with. Ployrada didn't take the caution so she was shot at the back by a soundless gun. Her body fell onto the floor with endless red blood pouring. All black suit intruders waited no more. They sneaked out from the labs, leaving Ployrada's body laid down on the floor of the laboratory which was burning intensely.

Before she died, she mocked herself with regrets. She still had her parents and grandma waited for her at home. Also the dog called 'Mumu' waited for the snack from her. It never ate from anyone's hand, only hers alone. She still had tons of novels that she still hadn't finished, many things she still did not do. That included falling in love.

But in reality, she did not regret dying to protect the research which can guard the country. But she couldn't do it. The research was stolen. And she didn't even have the chance to fix her mistake.

In her mind, there was a slice of second that she strongly prayed to Buddhism. It became the attachment that made her couldn't pass on. She asked if there is really a miracle, please let her be able to protect the knowledge that can help secure her country, so it wouldn't be bullied by others. So the people could live peacefully under the royal grace.

That was her last thought before everything faded from her mind. The breath stopped. Though her resolution still stayed strong, but the flame of life had gradually died out. There were so many regrets, far too many.
