Chapter Two

Michael nods. "Yeah your mom said you are coming home today" he answered simply. Arianne just nods.

"I see" she then turn her attention to her mom who was looking at her without saying a word. It was somewhat strange and suspicious. Her mother isn't like this usually. She would usually start her lecture but now she seems list in thoughts.

"Mom?" Arianne call out to her mother. Her mother turn toward her.

She open her mouth. "Arianne there's something me and your dad need to tell you". Her mom said. This time her expression and voice are serious.

Arianne was somewhat surprised and was curious on what her mother was going to say. "What is it?". She ask.

Her mother look at her dad before turning back toward her.

"We had decided to get you married."

Arianne was stunned as her body froze in place. It take her a few minutes to process the information.

"WHAT?!"

She look at her parents in disbelief.

"Are you guys serious?" she looks at her parents in disbelief. "Me? Getting married? No way!". She disagree without hesitation.

Her parents look like they had expect this. Her mom speak up again.

"It's either you married him or work in your dad company". Her mom replied calmly.

"And besides, you wouldn't regret it if you see him." her mom continue.

Arianne narrow her eyes at her mother words. "First you threatened me and now you tell me i would like him? Who's this guy actually? Is dad company going bankrupt and you need me to marry his son's friend or something like in those dramas?" she said sarcastically as she cross her arms.

At her words,her dad glare at her."You think there is someone who can make me go bankrupt? You think I'm that weak?" her father replied clearly annoyed and offended that his daughter think he can easily be taken down.

Her mom looks at her in disbelief. "No stop your imagination. There's no such things. The person you're going to marry is someone your grandpa introduce." her mom said calmly. "And besides that boy is so sweet and gentle. Unlike my rebellious daughter." her mom said with a hint of sarcasm.

She looks at her mother in disbelief. "Even before I married him,you guys already on his side. Is he your adopt son or something?" she said in annoyance.

Suddenly, her mother pulls out something. She handed it to Arianne. It was a photograph of a man with short midnight black hair and crystal blue eyes. He is both nice and attractive. His expression is soft and warm.

Arianne took the photograph and carefully examined it. Her type is the man in the photo. She is particularly fond of attractive men. Who wouldn't, after all?

Her gaze turn back to her parents. She raise her eyebrows. "Is this him?"

Her mother nods. "Yes. Do you like him? We both make sure he suits your taste." her mom replied casually. She knows best how her daughter will first look at the appearance before anything else.

"And he also had a good career and clean background. All in all, he's a great choice." her mother continue.

"So Ari what do you think?" her mom looks at her. Her dad suddenly spoke up.

"If you marry him. Half of my fortune will go to you. You don't need to bother about anything else". Her dad said seriously.

Arianne was stunned. Her dad once said that if she didn't work with him,she would never inherited his fortune. But now because of her marriage to this unknown guy,her dad make such an offer? Who is this guy actually? What had he done to make even her stern father to change his decision?

She take a deep breath as she looks at her parents. She sigh. "Fine. I agree. So when is the wedding?".

Her parents smiles in satisfaction. Her mom replied.

"It's next week".

"Oh okay- wait WHAT?!." She looks at her parents like they had gone insane.

"Don't worry all the preparation had been done. You just relax and be ready to become someone wife soon". Her mom said before sipping her tea.

"No that's not the problem here". She sigh again. She now understood that her parents had planned all this perfectly to set her up from the very beginning.

It seems that she had to say bye-bye to her single life soon. She already feel herself having headache.
