Meng linglang had two adopted daughters. One princess, one village girl. Although they had both been brought back from the village, she had an extreme bias towards Ning Rui. Ning Zihao had found out that his sister had an accident and died in the process while her child went to an orphanage. He had vowed to protect his sister's child so they adopted Ning Xi as well.
