Chapter 1 - The first spark

The air was thick with the sounds of the bustling city, but Emma barely noticed. She was lost in thought, lost in the chaos of her own mind. She had just finished a grueling day at work and was in no mood for anything other than a quiet night at home. But fate had other plans.

As she walked down the busy street, she caught a glimpse of a man across the way. He was tall, dark, and handsome, with piercing blue eyes that seemed to see right through her. For a moment, Emma forgot where she was, lost in the intensity of his gaze.

Their eyes locked, and Emma felt a spark of attraction ignite within her. She didn't know what it was about this stranger that drew her to him, but she knew that she had to find out. She felt a sudden impulse to cross the street, to get closer to him, to see if the spark she felt was real.

The memories of the accident came rushing back to her - the screeching tires, the impact, and then darkness. She tried to move, but her body felt heavy and weak. A nurse appeared at her bedside, explaining that she had been in a car accident and had suffered multiple injuries. Emma's heart raced as she tried to process the information. She was in the hospital, and her road to recovery was just beginning.

Emma, in the midst of her slow recovery, was taken aback when her mother paid her a visit. Confusion settled in as she realized it had been years since she last saw her.

Emma and her mother engaged in a heated conversation, exchanging passionate words and intense emotions.

Their voices grew louder as they expressed their differing opinions and frustrations. The air was thick with tension, as each tried to make their point heard.

Emma is furious because she believed that she and her mother had already moved past this issue, and she is adamant about not wanting to marry someone she does not love.
