Plot Summary:

In the bustling city of modern-day Nigeria, a young and ambitious historian named Sade lives an ordinary life, far too ordinary as a geek and nerd no one finds her interesting and considers her love of history a complete bore. One serendipitous day, while exploring an ancient bookstore tucked away in an alley of a busy street in Lagos, Sade stumbles upon a mysterious scroll hidden amidst stacks of dusty tomes. As she unfolds the delicate parchment, a blinding light envelops her, transporting her consciousness back in time to ancient China during the Song Dynasty.

Confused and disoriented, Sade awakens in the lavish grounds of the Imperial Palace. Shocked my her sudden appearance especially as she was very different from the typical girl, she was quickly called a sorcerer according to the long awaited prophecy “The Dark One will come with skin like ebony to help the Emperor rule the people and bring prosperity to the land”. Adopting a new identity to survive in this unfamiliar era, she becomes Li Mei, an esteemed sorcerer and confidant to the emperor. Known for her vast knowledge and enchanting charm, she soon catches the attention of 4th Prince Jiang Yue, the Crown Prince.
