The Last Gaurdian
It was a sunny day at the orphanage and madam Black went out for her morning run .It hasn't rained in two months and everything was dried out but the air was still sweet and fresh and there were still green here and there in the meadow and flowers of every summer colour along the rocky path. There were only twenty children In The orphanage and it made madam Black happy. For the children living there it was boring and the children grew distant from having a family.
One day madam black found a woman at her doorstep, she look tired and afraid. When the woman came in she fell to the ground on her knees crying out in pain. The women looked up at Madam Blacks face and the expression on the woman's face was pain, doubt and something else." C-can you please help me?" the woman said as she stood up balancing her weight on the side table at the door with her one hand and with the other hand she holded a baby." come dear, let's get you and your baby dried up." said madam black while walking to a nearby cupboard and taking out two towels she stopped turned around, summoning up the women in front of her and then disappearing around the corner." I don't know if this will fit but I think..." Maddam Black looked up but there was no one there she looked down and saw the baby lying on the floor having nothing on other than a blanket wrapped around her.
Maddam Black walked up bend down and saw something sticking out of the blanket she looked inside and saw a necklace. She picked up the baby, walk to the front door, peeked her head out to see if the women she saw earlier would be there but no one was there. Only the chirping sounds of crickets and a hooting owl up in the old willow tree. Maddam Black knew she had to take care of the baby and she thought of a name. She looked at the baby's face and madam blacks heart melted with joy but also ached, the baby slowly opened her eyes and tried to move out of the blanket. She has beautiful hazel eyes with a dash of green. " I think I'll call you Alina." said Maddam Black proudly walking to the nursery where she change her into comfortable clothes, feed her and put her to sleep.
It's been 15 years and Alina is now 16 years old. In this time a fewkids have been adopted. Alina had only one best friend and his name was Chris, he was a fox not a person. The other kids didn't like her because she was different. When Alina was 2 years old she picked up a wooden table with only one hand to save Chris from suffocating. When she turned three years old one of the boys that was three times the size of her picked on her, pulled her hair and called her names, was given a good whopping of his life. Alina grab him by his hair and smack his head against the sofa and screamed in his ear. After but he didn't come near her same for the other kids.
" I can't believe her!" said Alina angrily. Alina was a good student, was mostly cheeky but never rude. " Why World I get 80% it good but still." Alina then stood up and walked to the teachers Lounge where she saw madam flower making coffee. " Good day ma'am may I have a few minutes of your time?" Alina said standing by the door. " You may." madam flowers said with a grin on her face while stirring the teaspoon around in her coffee. " Why did you give me 80% on my life science test its still good but I usually get 95%, may I see my test to see what I did wrong?" " I'm afraid not I don't have your test and even if you had your test there will be nothing to change." madam flower said smiling at Alena. In Alina's eyes there lit a fire. " Oh, then it's sorted thank you for your time. Alina turn around and went to her class she bend down and grabbed her bag while muttering " we will see about that."
After-school the bus would pick up all the children to be dropped off at the orphanage but Alina would usually walk home. Two kilometres from school Alina walked down a dirt path that she usually takes and there she saw Chris baking in the sun waiting for her. " Hello my boy, have you been good to hike I was gone?" Alina said bending down scratching Chris between his ears. "Let's go before maddam Black get's worried." she said to Chris walking next to her. It was already late at night and it was lights out at the orphanage when Alina snucked out by the back window. She brought a bag with her, with a flash light, pencil case and lock pick kit. With Chris by her side she quickly went back to school.
"If I remember correctly the principles office should be here, yep here it is" she whispered quietly to herself. She opened the window and fell inside, she stood up and looked around. She walked up to the principles desk and started to search for the exam papers her class wrote. She switched on the lamp and could see clearly that there were no papers here, only school documents and other books. Alina opened the the desk drawer and saw a small wooden box. At first it looked like a ring box but when she opened it, it was a necklace rather than a ring. She brought it closer to the lamp. The necklace has a thin cold Chané, the necklace itself has a small round emerald inside, surrounding the emerald is gold outline, with words carved in it. Alina tried to read the message but it wasn't a language she could understand.
Alina placed everything back, as it was, not leaving a trace that someone was there. As she walked to the window Alina thought of that necklace she found, she didn't want to steal it, so she took pictures of it and placed it back. She hurried home and stopped halfway, she saw smoke and smelled the air. Looking over the tree tops I could see the fire devouring everything in its path, my heart missed a beat, I could hear it hammering against my chest. All I could think of is the orphanage. As fast as her legs could run she ran closer and closer to where the fire came. Near the orphanage she stopped. There were no sign of madam Black or any of the children, the fire already burning against the river came closer and closer to Alina. Her eyes started to tear up and her nos started to burn from the smoke.
She kneeled down on the grass, couldn't move, all she could hear was the smoke crackling and her heart beating slower and slower. A crack behind her brought her back to life, started Alina rolled on her back " Who is there!" Alina shouted grabbing stick that laid beside her, pointing it in the direction of the crack that she heard. Out came Chris looking frightened as he saw Alina pointing a stick at him. " I'm sorry boy, U didn't know it was you. I'm so glad your oky." Alina grabbed Chris holding him tight while three years slipped from her eyes. She stood up and went through the river to the other side of the meadow, the she sat under a tree looking at the fire and crying. Chris came and laid on her lap, almost like he is saying you are alright, I'm here.
