This man almost slept with a woman who CHEATED ON HIM, while being in a relationship with someone else, and everyone is out here defending him because "first love came back after 10 years"?? That is not deep, that is not romantic, that is just IMMATURE THINKING. You are an adult. Act like one.
And to the author asking "what would you do if your first love came back after 10 years" — that question is not the deep philosophical gotcha you think it is. A person with actual maturity and SELF RESPECT would not throw everything away the second an ex shows up at the door. Feelings do not excuse behaviour. Being in love once does not give anyone a lifetime free pass to disrespect whoever they are with now.
Also let's be very clear — SHE CHEATED ON HIM. She is not some poor tragic lost love. She made her choice years ago. The only tragic thing here is watching grown people in these comments act like betrayal is romantic just because it comes wrapped in nostalgia.
Where did your self respect go? Seriously. YOUR SELF RESPECT. Because defending someone almost cheating and calling it understandable is not being open minded — it is just showing that you have normalised being treated poorly and dressed it up as love.
