...Kiah's POV:...
Reverberating echo of a laughter plays repeatedly in my mind. I can't stop thinking about it. That scenario had seems to have a sort of control on me.
A cup of black coffee would be better to take my mind off him.

Near the window, under the fine light of the crescent moon, Kiah had her desk set to work.
The road itself, winding through the winter landscape, causing the curtains to sway with a gentle dance. Soft wind caresses her skin. She likes the phase of snow. Indeed. Not letting anything affect her, she continued to involve herself in work, and it was all until the Kenna called.
"It thought you were supposed to be here by midnight." The gloomy whisper changed the Kiah's expression as she took the coat and started to wrap up her stuff.
"Kenna." She tried to stay firm.
"Kiah. You're supposed to have dinner. I know you haven't had any of it. "
"Kenna, I -"
"I want you here within an hour" With this, Kenna hanged up. Clearing showing that she's mad at Kiah. Yes. The mother is mothering.
Has been more 4 years since she met Kiah. Not a great meeting though. But as always, you get along with the people mostly the good people, eventually.
Kiah sighed. Gave a hard punch to a wall adjacent to her. She closed the window and rushed out of the house. Forgetting the keys were the reason she came back in and her gaze fell on a half open shelf. Brown shelf. Engraved with a polish touch. The documents and the journal the lowest row, were at a small distance from floor.
She quickly grabbed a hold of her backpack and pulled out the two similar looking keys. She locked the door of the shelf and quickly pulled down the covers over it.
The sound of zipper of her bag was loud in that dimly lit room.
Securing the lock of the main door, she descended the wooden stairs.
Getting into the truck parked across and closed the automatic gate of the house, she drove off as fast as possible.

Hearing a sound of a doorbell, Kenna rushed to open the door. There she is. Kaih. Trying to look as calm as possible.
Kenna pulled her in and hugged her. Knowing her breathing problems, she gently patted he back.
"I've told you to not take the stairs to the twelfth floor." Kenna mumbled on her shoulder.
"I know. "
"Guys! " Kristina was all needed to cheer up the environment.
They pulled apart and looked at Kristina, hands covering her mouth and shocked eyes "OMG! You guys are finally together-"
"Kris-"
"Kenna! My baby. You've finally got your soulmate."
Kiah simply kept her bag on couch and walked to the refrigerator.
"Kristina. Stop it. "
Faking the happy tears Kristina goes on "You know it hurts that you and I can't be together, but I'm happy for you guys"
The silence weaved for few seconds as munching on a bar of chocolate Kiah, with scrunched eyes Kenna and holding a hand over her, adoring the both Kristina eyed each other. The joyous cadence of laughter echoed in the room of both of them as Kiah chuckled a bit.
Zoning out to the time when she heard his laugh. Missing someone is only when you miss the pastime, it's also when you find yourself living at the moment again and again.
Sounds too emotional for Kiah, isn't it?
The ringing of the telephone disturbed the moment and three of them looked at each other.
The time after midnight, past three in the morning, every saturday, Kiah's mother call, trying to know how her daughter is.
The only twist is that she calls the Kristina, the whom Kiah met when she was not even in her 20s.
Never knew how she found out about Kristina is still in contact with Kiah but asking her well-being about her daughter, couldn't be the only reason to ring once a week.
"Hello? "
Coming out of their trance, Kenna nudged Kristina, "Yes. Mrs Green."
"What took you so long to reply? " Sense of suspicious she could feel.
"Yes. Well, I'm baking a cake and I actually had to dust off the flour off my apron. How are you Mrs Green? "
"Kristina. I want to know about my daughter." Getting irritated by the explanation, Mrs Green came to the point directly.
Kristina looked at the blank face of Kiah "Mrs Green. I'm telling you we haven't had a conversation since two weeks" she said as Kiah nodded slightly at her.
"Are you sure ?"
"Mrs Green, you can trust me."
"We'll see. "
Not getting the enough information, Mrs Green hanged up the call.
Kenna had set the table while they're talking. "Guys. Go get freshen up. I'm waiting. " She looked at Kiah, "I'll be back. "
Kristina called out for Kenna from her room.
"Are you sure that you guys are not together? "
"Kenna, come on stop with using your pillow as a weapon-"
As Kenna chased her.
