Miho\pov//

I woke up from the same nightmare which haunts me sometime after my mother’s death but on waking up I found myself in a hospital room and on my side was standing the same man, maybe who hold me when I fainted… and that person was no one else than ‘Mr. Ronald Royce’, the father of my child and the person whom I want to ignore most for now.

“Miho, what happened?... are you fine, should I call the doctor” he replied with sincere eyes but I ignored his worry and tried to get up from the bed, but it doesn’t helped instead I became imbalanced and fell in his arms and both our eyes locked for a moment like the time has stopped. So, I pushed him and again landed on the bed while he didn’t even move for a centimeter. “Miho, why are you trying to ignore me this much. And even if you try to leave this place, I won’t let that happen because your body is very weak and you need rest to recover. so, you have to stay here at least for 2 days.” He replied actually not replied he commanded to me which even make me annoyed so I said to him turning my gaze away “Why do you care about me” listening to this he scoffed like he is my mother and said “Why does I care? Huh, did you really forgot what I asked to you or you want me to repeat myself again… and besides this let me ask you why are you still trying to act cold in front of me… do you have any answer” well listening to all this I can only admit that he is an eye for an eye type of person maybe. And yes it is write I don’t have any answer for this questions but I also even want to talk to him, so I asked him “Can you gave me my bag or do you want me to get up and take it myself” “you are very stubborn… but fine, I still like it on you” he was totally saying rubbish in front of me but still I don’t want to argue further with him. So, I took my bag from him, took my laptop and mobile from it and start working on the company’s upcoming projects and investment plans.

Around 3:00 pm my work was half finished and my stomach was asking to feed it, so I looked around and found Ronald was constantly staring at me for the whole time but I only found out now… how embarrassing… but wait why would I be embarrassed if I have anything to do with him, it’s quiet weird feeling. But let’s forget it for now and I am even hungry and bored sitting the bed whole time, so clearing my throat I asked him “Have you seen enough” “huh!... not yet” he replied shamelessly. Then I said to him seriously “I am hungry, I want to go out and eat” then he got up from his seat and said while caressing my head like I am a cut puppy “It is good sometimes to rely on others, you should learn it more” actually in my life till now I have understand quite bitter things but they are even true if we apply them, so I replied him with a scornful laughter “Somethings are easy to say but they can’t be easily done… like somethings look good in movies, serials, dramas and many more but they didn’t happen in real life. Relying on others also means getting betrayed by them or being heartbroken by them…  So, it’s better to live on your own” “Even if you get love, care and happiness by relying on others, then will you still insist on living alone?” listening to his question which was more like an answer in itself I was a bit confused about what to reply, so I kept mum ignoring his gazes. Actually, he is the first person after my family, who can reason with me and make me think twice on my own decision but I won’t admit any thing in front of him like this because if I did this then he will also act like others maybe. “Okay, forget it if you don’t want to reply because right now feeding you is more important than anything” he said to me with a smile.

She is not like how she pretends in front of others. Actually, even if I have not spent much time with her but I am hundred percent sure about one thing, that Miho just don’t want to show her real side or innocent and soft side to anyone maybe because of her childhood problems or some other misunderstanding in her life but that is not a problem now for me.

We both decided to eat in the hospital canteen because she is neither allowed to leave the hospital nor she wants to eat in the room, so for a change of mood canteen was the best option and the food there was not even bad. So, it was best for now.

She was completely focused on eating her food and there was pin drop silence on our table because from other tables children were laughing with their parents, old peoples and adults were chatting happily, actually in simple very one was chatting whether it is serious or funny but on our table it was dead silence and ignoring from her side because I was totally staring at her calm but beautiful face and when she was bending her neck to eat her hairs were covering one side of her face till her ear, and every time at that moment she was putting the hair strands beside her ear… She is like a sweet poison most of the time… which you will long to have but at the same time you will be also hesitant to take a move.

When we both were finished with our food and sitting there for some time, I asked her “So, why did you decided to become a single mother… I mean you are still young and capable so there will be many men who have tried to pursue you. Well, you will be probably around 25-26” listening this she gave a little chuckle and replied “It’s 21 this year… well Does I look this old?” when she told me she is 21 I was really shocked because I didn’t mean to say that she look’s older or she is not beautiful, it’s just that by seeing her performance and description from my father I thought she would have been in business for a few years and she would be probably about 25 at least… but it is impossible to find a single women actually only women even finding a man who is a CEO of an Empire like ‘Angel Empire’ it is unbelievable, even I took over as the CEO at  23… but still it is true and now I understand why people say ‘There is always a lady beside a successful mean’ or ‘Underestimating a women is the biggest mistake of a man’s life’… it also seems true now that women can run both house and economy very beautifully. “What happened, why did you zoned out” Miho asked me because I was completely lost in my thoughts, so I took a deep breath and replied her with a smile “I am sorry, I didn’t mean to offend you but it is really hard to guess that you are only 21 years old by seeing your achievement’s in business and also seeing your behavior… you look much mature, understanding, serious and cold, but  you also look very beautiful and sweet however you act” it was the first time when listening to me she gave a little blush and became shy somehow. “You are a very sweet talker… but it won’t work on me. Things became useless when they are given to the wrong person” she replied to me after a long pause, then I said to her abruptly “Why did you always blow off the mood” “I am tired and sleepy, I want to rest now” she said to me while getting up and waking toward the room and I also quietly follow her back because it is not good to force in answering in anything when she doesn’t even about my identity clearly.

While we were going toward the room a little boy crashed in Miho and they both became imbalanced and the boy fell on the ground while Miho balanced herself, after this she helped the boy a get up and squat in front of him and asked him in a very friendly and soothing tone “ Little Buddy, what happened why are you crying…” then the child said between his sobs “My parent’s abandoned me… they has gone very far from me” listening the boy and seeing him in this state was much heartbreaking because indirectly his words were telling that his parent’s died but because he was only 5 so he somehow thought that his parent’s only left him but he don’t know that they left the world. So, I also squat down beside Miho and asked the boy “What is name kid, and where are your other family members” then he looked up to me from Miho’s hug and replied after a pause “Jem Jackson uncle… sob… I only have my parents… but they left me alone” actually ‘Jackson’ was also one of the business company’s name and from his appearance and attire anyone can tell that his family is rich, so I asked him “Is your father’s name Mr. Michalle Jackson” then he nodded his head and Miho looked at me with surprised eyes and at that time a man in his 60’s in a black suit came running toward us and said after bowing “Young Master, please come with me. You can’t run here like this, a young lady and her lawyer are also waiting for you” listening to this Miho handed Jem to me and said to the butler furiously “How can a 5 year old boy handle business matter’s by himself and also how can he not be sentimental when he have just lost his…” then Jem said to Miho wile pulling her sleeves from my arms “Aunt I don’t want to go with the bad women, my mother strictly told me not to be friends with her” the matter was clear as water that after Mr. Jackson and his wife’s death someone is trying to take away their business by this using this little kid’s use, so I interrupted Miho and said “take us with you to the lady” listening this the butler seems hesitant but he nodded and lead the way.

Upon reaching there we saw a young lady but this time I am sure she is neither young than Miho nor beautiful and smart. When she saw us, she became a bit scared but then she ran towered Jem and said with her D-grade fake acting “Jem my dear child, where were you I was so worried about you. Tell me if anything would have happened you then how am I going to face your dead mother” listening and seeing her fake acting I felt like hitting her, how can anyone say his/her parents are dead in front of a 5-year-old child. When she tried to approach Jem and took him on her side, Jem rushed toward Miho and hide behind her like he is very scared of that wicked women, but she didn’t stopped there instead she laughed a bit  and said to us “I am really sorry on behalf of Jem, actually he is a notorious kid. Jem now quietly come here and go to see your parent’s with me” hearing this it can be seen that Miho is raging with anger and trying very hard to keep herself calm, so Miho said to the woman “First you tell who are you Miss, and why is you forcing him to come with you” listening this the woman replied arrogantly “I am his aunt and now, his parents are dead so it’s oblivious for me to take him with me… do you have any problem or you don’t have any brain… Actually, can you tell me what is your relationship with brother-in-law that you is not giving me the child… or in simple you is a bitch who is using the child to get all the wealth” her words were quite harsh and rude so I was about to defend Miho from her but before I could do or say anything Miho slapped her very hard that all the five fingers printed on her cheeks… it was so cool… but that bitch didn’t stop instead she was about to slap Miho back so I stopped her hand in midair and said “Miss whoever you are you should leave now, it is clear who is the bitch here after money and the child also don’t even want to come with you” then she replied while freeing her hand “who do you think you are to order me. This little bastard has to come with me today and he will also sign all these papers” then Miho slapped her again and said “You are really uneducated huh… how can you use this kind of language in front of a child. Give me a chance I will go back to court and will inform everything to the judge, to withdraw the case and close the custody case right now” after saying all of this the lawyer left to correct his case, but after seeing her defeat the women became more angry and pushed Miho along with Jem on the floor and tried to escape but luckily the police arrived at that time and arrested the women and took her away with them.

After this I called for the doctors and rushed toward both of them Luckily Jem was not severely injured but Miho was groaning from Pain and her hand was clutched on her belly tightly, then she said to me while struggling “Save the child… and Jem also… please” then I replied to her hurriedly while placing her on the stretcher “Nothing will happen to anyone, have confidence” after this the doctor’s rushed and took her inside the emergency room, this is the second time in a single day when she ended up in the emergency room after seeing this I can’t leave her on her own more because she won’t be able to took her and the unborn child’s care, so it is my duty now to be by her side whether she like it or not.

“Uncle, I am scared will aunty be safe” Jem asked he with guilty eyes but it was not his fault also so I took him in my arms and replied him assuring myself more “She will be definitely fine and she have to be fine for you, me and…” then he asked me dumbly “and…?, is there someone else also” then I replied him smiling at his innocence “of course there is. It is a very little baby in her belly” “ So, you both will get a child soon… my daddy once told me that when I was born he and my mommy were very happy… sob… but now they died” he broke down at the last part but it was natural because he has to face the truth at this age because of that wicked woman. So I patted his back and said him consolingly “Don’t cry Jem, they will be sad if they see you like this and your Aunt will be also sad seeing you like this after she will wake-up besides you have me, Miho, that little kid with you as friends” then he said leaning on my chest and rubbing his eyes to calm him “But I don’t have my parent’s now neither I have a family, I will be alone and my schoolmates will also make fun of me” after this I only soothed his back to comfort him and then the nurse cam and told us that we can meet the Patient and everything is fine, listening this I rushed toward the room with Jem in my arms.

Upon reaching there we saw Miho sitting on the bed with the support of the headboard, then Jem jumped from my arms and said to her while hugging her “Aunty, I was very scared because of me that evil women hurt you and ( he kissed her on her belly) the little baby” then Miho looked towered me with a bit anger and asked with gritted teeth “How can you tell a child these kind of thinks, will his parents be happy with you Ronald” then before I could say anything Jem sat beside her on the bed and said with a bit sadness “Aunty, Uncle is not the first to tell me about this. Actually my father also me before the accident that my mommy is having a little brother also ( pointing at Miho’s belly) here… but they all leaved me” listening his talk we were able to understand how hard it would have been on him, so I went there and said to him while sitting beside him “Jem, you are very sensible and sweet, and your parents and brother haven’t left you they have just became stars and they will see you every night from the sky, so be strong and happy” he nodded at me and then Miho said to him while taking his hand in her “ Will you be happy to live with me as a family, can I become your godmother” then Jem asked Excitedly “Can this really happen” then I interrupted and said “ Yes, of course and I also want to become your godfather if you don’t have any problem” the n Jem replied “ Yes you both can, (hugging Miho) and I really want to live with you both” then Miho asked me while hugging Jem back “Why do you always have to get involve in everything which is related to me” seeing her  annoying face expression was some how cute and funny so I and Jem both laughed a lot.

It is night time now and we all have eaten our dinner so right now Miho and Jem are sitting on the bed where Miho is reading a story book and Jem is listening it with a lot of interest and I am doing my work on laptop, because since I didn’t went to work today and will also not be able to go to office so it is best to do my work from home or hospital, where I am.

After everyone was finished with what they were doing Miho asked Jem “Jem, I understand how you will feel about this, but it is necessary to do so I have to ask you” then Jem asked dumbfound “What do you to ask, I am prepared you can ask me” then she said “We have to say your parents and brother there last goodbye and do there funeral tomorrow, so can you tell me about your any family member” listening this he seems a bit sad and I also know a little about Mr. Jackson so I replied to ease Jem “Well, I also Know a little bit about your parents” then Jem asked me joyfully “really?... you know my daddy, were you two friends” then I answered him while sitting beside him and rubbing his head “Yes a little bit, actually as I have listened your father was the only son of your grandparents but when Michalle was 17 years he got in an accident with your grandparents and at that time only Michalle survived but he was not able to walk temporarily, after that he stopped attending school and changed completely into a very distant person” in the middle Miho asked me “How do you know this?” then I answered “We both were in same school and same standards but different sections… by the way which school and university you studied in” then Jem also asked excitedly “ I also want to know that Godmother” “I was 8 when my father and grandmother died after that my mom sent me to a hostel abroad and I came back when I was 17 but on my 18th birthday mom died so, I took over the business at 18 and start handling company matters without making any appearance in public till 20, after that I was completely prepared to come in front of everyone, so I officially announced myself as Miho Mailled the CEO of ‘Angel Empire’ when I was 20 and now I am 21 … that’s all” she replied plainly with sorrow in her voice. And these things will also have been tough on her but still I would like to praise her more than pitting her because living alone from the age of 8 abroad, and handling a big company actually empire from the age of 18, it is a thing on  which one should be proud but that excitement and joy is not seen in Miho, then Jem asked Miho confusedly “So, you have only studied till 12th class, After that you didn’t studied anything. I will also try hard to become like you, kind, capable and charming” after listening this Miho looked at him and laughed, her laugh was truly angelic but rare also. Then after a few minutes she said to me “You continue the story about Mr. Jackson” so I continued it “So, as long as I know at that time the Principal appointed Mrs. Mia your mother to take of Michalle 24x7. And because she was a scholarship student because she was orphan, she has to follow the orders and that’s how they meet each other. But…” after this I gave a pause and looked at them, by that time Jem was asleep but Miho was listening to me interestingly so I continued “But one incident was very terrifying, when someone spiked her drink at a party and tried to rape her but luckily her friend saw a man forcing her to go with him so, her friend crashed the vase on the man’s head and he died at the spot, after that hearing upon the scream everyone rushed there and saw the man lying on the floor while Mia was sitting in the corner very frightened and her dress was also not in a good condition and the girl was sitting beside Mia hugging her, upon seeing Mia’s this condition Michalle was very disappointed in himself that he was not able to protect her well and even one more innocent girl got involved in this, so he compensated the girl because of that incident and sent her abroad to forget the accident and higher studies. After a few minutes later Miho was read to sleep so I stood up from the bed and stared to took Jem in my arms so that I can place him on another bed and she will be able to sleep comfortably but while I was picking him up he tightened his grip around Miho’s waist and was not willing to leave her, then Miho looked at him smilingly and said while touching her flat belly “Is this how feels to be a mother?... I will definitely protect you both” sometimes she becomes sentimental also. I also want to feel the baby under my hand but I am not sure how to say it, so with hesitation I muttered to her point at her belly “Can I please feel the baby” listening this she seems a bit confused but then she replied to me with calmness “Okay, no problem” I was very happy to listen her first approval, then I moved to her side and slowly-slowly place my hand on her belly, her belly was flat but the feeling was overwhelming and it can’t be denied that becoming parents is a blessing from god and when you even get a chance to with someone you what to be like Miho then it is a gift from god, which should be cherished beautifully…
