The Madhouse
The cell door cracked open, a security personnel then entered the room.
"Subject 13579, cleared," the first man said distinctly.
"Take her to the observation room no.10928" Another man entered the room and instructed the first man.
To the observation room, that white wide empty room again?! "No!" I exclaimed as I kept my distance from them. The first man snatched my arm as I tried to run away. They both took me with them to the observation room that the other man said earlier.
I struggled from their tight grip on my arms. Everyone knows I hate being dragged into that room. Every time they took me there, those psychotic doctors would inject some kind of liquid into my neck with those massive needles of their metal injections that hurts like hell. I begged them to let go of me, but they just ignored my pleading cry for my life.
The first man opened the observation room's door and dragged me inside. I squeezed my eyes shut as I feared seeing those psychotic doctors who would never hesitate to take my life away. A cold breeze of air brushed through my face as they took me in. The sound of silence welcomed me inside the room. Fear starts crawling on my skin as the anxiety starts to eat me alive.
I waited for a few minutes to pass after I decided to open my eyes slowly. Having the courage to see what is happening in my surroundings is already such a miracle. I looked around me and saw no signs of those psychotic doctors. Maybe today was just different from the other days that have passed away. The sound of an unlocking door echoes through the entire room.
A woman in a plain white loose sleeping dress keeps shouting the word Rose while facing me. Her voice was so familiar, I might have heard her voice before but I don't know when. The two men from before were the ones who brought the woman here. The other man un-cuffed the woman's hand and after that, the woman immediately ran towards me and pulled me into a tight hug.
She caressed my face and kissed my forehead. "Rose, I thought I wouldn't be able to see you again," she mumbled softly into my left ear. Her voice, her face, her touch, it can't just be a dream. "Mom-" I opened my mouth but the words won't just come out. Tears started to fall from my eyes as I realized that the woman in front of me was my mother.
I have always wanted to be with her every time I feel lonely and afraid. She lifted my face and looked at me with those caring eyes that I've always looked for. "Mom, I miss you". The words finally found their way out of my mouth. Her eyes were now filled with tears. She holds me even closer to her as if she never wants to be apart from me again.
