"Mother, who is he ?"

- I asked in a bubbly voice ,

eyes shining with curiosity .

I pointed towards the stage across the road .. A man dressed in bright red,

his hair painted green,

face as pale as the winter moon,

grinning broadly at the noisy crowd..

"CLOWN - that's what he is called sweety!"

I was fascinated....

my little mind wandering in the fantasy land had stumbled upon a sour candy .....

* Mimic him * my mind said ...

and so I did ....

Making my mom laugh

that was pleasant indeed ...

Time drifts down making its way through the memories....

toddling over the hard stones,

breaking through the soft ones ...

Setting it's own way to the eternal SEA .

The child slowly learnt...

it hurts when she touches a flame,

your father is the Santa gifting you the train ,

mixing white and black give u GREY,

words count more when unsaid,

All Smiles are not necessarily the same ...

THINGS remained same but the reasons CHANGED !!!

few months back , drunk on my way home ,

I came across a clown .

He saved me from being run over by a car .

" hey! young man be careful !" -

those words cut through the thick cold blanket of solitude.

but still way too far from hitting my

conscience.

I SMILED BACK AT HIM .

A known reply ..

He took care of the child till grown up me came for it ...

" U may cry now..." - he said

" I won't LAUGH !.... not even a bit "

A STORM WAS RAGING INSIDE ME ,

FACES OF HOWLING DOGS EVERYWHERE .

AMIDST ALL I HEARD A DROWNING VOICE-

just smile !you will b alright .

just SMILE one more time !!!

Not long after that I heard he passed away,

living his work halfway ...

but don't worry my friend ,

I am READY to repeat ur song !!!
