"WELCOME EVERYONE! TO THE CLOWNS PLAY HOUSE!" A man with clown face paint and dressed in red and white striped suit announced from the stage.
"What a weird name for a theme park?" Alex said, crossing his arms.
"Alex don't be mean, it sounds fun!" Mia said, lightly punching Alex's shoulder.
"Mia," Alex paused. "I'm not even going to argue with you."
"Good, then don't, just listen to the announcer guy." Mai said looking at the stage intently.
After a few more minutes the announcer walked off the stage over to a huge metal gate leading to a clown themed park. With a key, he unlocked the gate and swung it open. "IS EVERYONE READY!?" He asked the crowd, the crowd bursting into cheers. "A single file line, everyone show me your tickets to get in!"
Mia and Alex eventually made it to the door, "Here," Alex said showing both his and Mia's tickets to the announcer.
"What's this?" The announcer said, quickly taking the tickets and inspecting them.
"What's what?" Alex asked looking at the man confused.
"You seem to have special tickets, go over there. There is only a small group of people that got their hands on these! I'll personally travel with you two and the rest of the group after I get everyone done." The announcer said giving back the tickets.
After waiting about 30 minutes the announcer walked over to the group of people with Mia and Alex. Alex then stood up abruptly as the announcer walked over, and asked, "Why aren't we going with the other people?"
"Why a curious soul..." The announcer started looking devilishly at the couple, "You will find out soon enough. Follow me!" The announcer said walking down a dimly lit path.
The group quickly followed, along with Mia and Alex. After walking on the path for what seemed like hours Alex got frustrated. He grabbed Mia's arm and marched to the front where the announcer had been leading the group. When they got to the front Alex let go of Mia's arm and rudely asked, "Hey! What's going on!? This isn't what I paid for!"
The announcer turned to look at Alex, "Hmm." The announcer turned back around and kept walking. Stopping infront of a black wooden door with a blood red handle.
"HEY WHAT'S YOUR PROBLEM?!" Alex yelled, grabbing the announcers shoulder.
As soon as Alex grabbed the announcers shoulder Mia quickly grabbed Alex's other hand. "Hey, maybe you shouldn't..." Mai started. The lights started flickering, she continued, "You shouldn't be impatient or mean, it's not his fault that wherever we're going is so far."
"You should listen to your girlfriend," the announcer said, with Alex's hand still on his shoulder. "You wanted to know where we were going right? We've arrived!" Everyone started looking around wondering what the announcer meant. "You're probably confused," the announcer continued, "this is the special thing I was talking about, an escape room! Good luck, you'll need it." The announcer stepped back out of Alex's grip into the now opened doorway, disappearing.
"Where'd he go?" Said a voice from the group.
"Let's go!" Another voice said.
The group started crowding the doorway, no one wanting to take the first step into the room. "EVERYONE STOP!" Alex shouted. "We shouldn't crowd the door, if all of you are so scared to go into the room we should walk back."
Once the whole group was finally in agreement, everyone heard a click. Everyone started looking around wondering where the sound came from. Suddenly sharp spikes shot out of the wall, everyone started scrambling. When everyone eventually calmed down they saw two people had gotten impaled. Seeing the gruesome sight Alex grabbed Mia pulling her into a hug covering her face. One of the people got impaled through the heart, it was a man around 50 looking, he had blood coming out of his mouth with his eyes open glazed over. The other person that got impaled was a kid, a spike had shot straight through the face, and you couldn't make out if it was a little girl or boy, judging on how big the kid was, had to be about 5 or 6. Blood was still flowing from the skull, dripping down. The kids feet were about an inch off the ground with a pool of blood accumulated under. When everyone got a good look, the mother of the kid dropped to her knees crying and screaming hysterically. There was another click soon after and the walls started closing in.
"EVERYONE TO THE ROOM!" A voice came from the group, everyone scrambled to the door.
Once everyone was in the room the door slammed and a voice came from a small speaker, "Looks like we can start the game, you have 60 minutes to make it to the next room, or there will be consequences. BEEP!"
Looking around the room, the floor was made up of black splintered wood, the walls were concrete with ripped wallpaper hanging off, and there was a light brown bookshelf on the far right side of the room. The room was only lit with small lanterns scattered around. Everyone started looking around, soon someone found a loose floor board, "EVERYONE LOOK!" The person shouted from the far left of the room.
Everyone soon headed to the left side of the room. The person tried pulling the floorboard off but was clearly struggling, "Do you need help?" Mai asked the man still on the floor struggling.
"Oh yes please," he replied, Mia sitting down to help.
Alex was standing in the corner crossing his arms when a woman walked over to him, "Hey, what is your name?"
Alex looked at the woman, "Alex, yours?"
The woman laughed, "Sara. You know Alex is a cute name, and you're a pretty cute guy." Sara said smiling.
"Oh well," Alex started, stopping when he heard a scream.
Everyone soon realized why there was a scream, on the far right side of the room a hooded man stood with an axe in his right hand, and a severed head in his other hand, dripping blood. The speaker then came on, "This is Bob, I didn't mention earlier that every ten minutes that passes another person is killed. Hehehehe! BEEP!" Everyone looked horrified and slowly started backing up from the man.
Currently, there was a total of 13 people in the room, not counting Bob. Bob then dropped the head taking two large steps toward the group of people, he then held out his hand. Everyone looked at each other in fear, wondering what he wanted. "He wants the group to decide which person is going to die next, BEEP." The speaker said, sending everyone into chaos. After a moment the speaker came on again, "better choose quickly, before everyone ends up like your other friends, BEEP."
There wasn't a decision made in time and the roof came crashing down on everybody. Effectively killing everyone... but wait.
I was back at the front of the stage where we were before everything happened. "WELCOME EVERYONE! TO THE CLOWNS PLAY HOUSE!" A man with clown face paint and dressed in red and white striped suit announced from the stage. But hadn't this already happened?!
I tuned my head to Mia, "We should go." I told her, still shocked from the vision I had.
Mia turned to me "Why? You scared?" She giggled.
"No! Its just" I paused, I can't tell her I had a vision, she'll think I'm crazy. "I forgot the tickets at home." I made an excuse.
"Alex!" She yelled, "We drove 3 hours out here!"
"I know, I'm sorry can we go." I pleaded with her.
After we left a couple days later on the news there was a story of a killer clown house. But I couldn't shake the looming feeling of impending death...
