imagine someone said shit about you to your mother and you mother punished you a lot for it over months only for her to realise it as a lie. Over those months you will surely suffer to the point you make some decisions. So tell me who would you resent the most your mother who was supposed to confront you and support you and sort things out with you or a random person's words? I would obviously feel angry towards my mother than the other person.
