I'm Daniel, son of Alpha Raul. My mother died when I was very young.

My father doesn't have a Luna.

So he always expected that when my wolf awakened, I'd go searching for my Luna — if she wasn't already in the pack.

Around here, girls are falling at my feet. But I have my girl.

Cintia is everything I look for in a girlfriend. But she's not what I want in a Luna.

Cintia is incredibly hot, and she firmly believes she's my mate. We've been dating since we were eleven, back in school. But she doesn't care about the pack the way a Luna should.

Then there's my buddy Enzo.

Enzo is a Beta, just like his parents. A true partner and a friend for all occasions. He's dating Julia, Cintia's friend.

And then there's Emma. The pack's abomination. Emma is ugly. Her wolf is even uglier.

She's Enzo's twin sister, but they're completely different.

I always helped the girls bully her — until she was expelled from the pack.

Even then, we found out where she was hiding and kept going there to mess with her. Childish, I know.

Last year, I thought my wolf would awaken at fifteen because I could feel him stirring restlessly. I heard the freak calling me.

I heard her howling inside my head. I ran into the forest. When I reached that old cabin, I searched for her and found her behind the house, at the lake.

But for a moment, she didn't look like Emma. She was a beautiful woman — long, wet hair, white as snow. Those curves.

I lost my mind and lunged at her. Seeing that abomination beneath me —

I lost control. I squeezed her throat while I cursed at her. She screamed, and her hideous face only made me want it more.

I hit her hard across the face, and then I felt a force rip me off of her.

I blacked out. All I remember is waking up the next morning at the entrance to the pack.

From that day on, I felt even more repulsed by her.

I told everyone not to go near her or sell her anything. Whatever she needed to buy, I'd pay the merchants to refuse her.

After that day, I never went back to the old cabin. I banned her from entering the pack.

But today — one day before our wolves awaken —

I'm agitated, and she's right here. I catch a soft scent of mint and fresh flowers.

Cintia spits her venom at her, and I tell her to get lost.

My blood is boiling. I want to run after her.
