Episode 1

I'm Nergis, a 28-year-old girl who graduated as a teacher, but I haven't been able to practice it yet. I'm the second of three sisters, Lucy the oldest and Dani the youngest. We live with our mother and we also have a small restaurant in the city center where we help Mom daily.

My mother has been insisting for days that it's time for me to give myself the opportunity to be with someone again, and not only that, but to get married and formalize a family. The truth is, I don't want to have a relationship. My last relationship left me traumatized, and Mom's experience with my father doesn't help much. I'd like to practice my profession for the moment, maybe later if I meet someone and my thinking changes, it would be different.

I get ready to go down for breakfast with my sisters and my mother like every day, then we would go to the restaurant to work.

Today I put on dark jeans with a long-sleeved blouse that showed my shoulders, since the day had dawned a bit cold. I paired it with white booties and ironed my hair to make it straighter. I did very soft makeup, I didn't like to exaggerate. I go down for breakfast and see my sisters already gathered setting the table.

"Good morning," I say smiling, to which they respond with a mocking smile.

"Good morning, my dear, how did you wake up?" says Mom.

"Good, Mom, thank you," I say giving her a short kiss on her forehead.

"Sit down, honey, I'm almost done serving."

I help finish setting the table and notice how Dani and Lucy look at me and smile at each other. I didn't know what bug had bitten them this time, but I refrained from asking what was going on. I already knew them, when they put their minds to it, they seem like little girls playing pranks. We sit down to have breakfast when my mother brings up the subject of having a partner and formalizing a home again. I was about to go crazy, but I had to be respectful.

"Mom, I've already told you that I don't want to have a partner, I want to practice my profession."

"And what are you going to do, Nergis, while you get a job? Stay in the restaurant all day getting greasy, honey, you are very pretty."

"Thank you very much, Mom, but you can help Lucy."

"Oh no, sister, don't drag me into your things," says Lucy.

"Well, here you go, Nergis," she says, extending an envelope for you to go to the hairdresser and get a little fixed up. Today you have to go to an important date..."

"What do you mean, Mom?"

"Well, you'll have a date with Mrs. Betty's son, she already talked to him, he's a doctor and a good guy, it's your chance."

"No chance, Mom, how dare you, I'm not going on a date with someone I don't even know."

"That's why, my love, the date is for you to start getting to know each other."

I couldn't believe what my mom was telling me and I was already starting to get angry feeling how my sisters were laughing at each other.

"Nergis, there's nothing more to say, today at 7 you will show up at the Beach House restaurant and I don't want excuses, ask your sisters for help to get a little fixed up today, don't go to the restaurant, I can handle it myself."

She gets up from the table and I see her leaving the dining room.

"And now what am I going to do?" I say looking at my sisters.

"Relax, Nergis, go to the date, get the idea out of Mom's head, who knows, you might get along with the guy and things work out, or you just become friends. Now if you see that nothing comes of it, then make that date a disaster and that's it..."

"Are you crazy, Lucy?"

"Well, it's the only solution, you'll have to go anyway," says Dani.

I hated to agree with them, but it was true, they were absolutely right at this moment.

We finished breakfast, and they dragged me like a small child to go to the hairdresser where they made waves in my hair and simple makeup. I couldn't help it, I looked beautiful. Then we went to buy a dress, I don't know why I couldn't wear one of the ones I already had at home, they chose a very beautiful royal blue one, tight to my body and flared with a very sexy and subtle neckline on its back.

We arrived home and I was totally ready to go to the famous date. I looked in the mirror and I liked what I saw but my face reflected sadness, I didn't want to go to that fabulous date.

"Nergis," they knock on the door and I can tell it's my mother.

"Yes, Mom?"

"The taxi is already at the door."

"Give me a moment, I'm coming down."

Well, it was time, I take a deep breath and get ready to go down since they were waiting for me.
