CHAPTER THREE

Opening my eyes all I saw was a bit of darkness. I looked around and sensed that it was a dungeon. A prisoners home. With the little light rays penetrating into the window through two small holes I could sight the see -through door which seemed to be magical. I couldn't even see anyone coming to the door.

Now I actually understood I was a prisoner from remembering what that man with an emerald eyes who told those men that I was forever his prisoner which I cannot admit as far as I live.

I started wondering who that man with emerald eyes and black hair would be. He was totally distinct from the four men who tied me.

I remembered when I was seven, father said to me, whenever I ask him to tell me true stories of legends, that every male being chosen for an alpha demon was reincarnated to be a demon in order to torture the villagers and kill everyone. Then is reincarnation spell could be broken,, and a good become his real self as a human.

That was the story I best liked, and a thought suddenly came to my mind That the man with an emerald eyes was a demon. I had sensed, that even before I remembered this story.

And being a demon he could kill me. Demons are always heartless, like father said. So maybe I should just keep preparing for my death if I can't escape the demon's cage kept for me.

I stood to my feet and walked to the two holes where the sun rays dashed through. I peeped through it and caught the sight of the outward aura which looked dark as if experiencing an eclipse and gloomy all through. The flowers in the garden there all looked evil and as if they are all dead.

"Humph"I sighed, looking away. I tried looking at the other part of the premises when I head two soft knocks on the door. I couldn't see anyone even as it was a see-through door, when I turned back. Furthermore, I could only see my reflection, a reflection that needed a change. I wondered who must be knocking. What if it was the foreman who might have come to slaughter me? On what if it was that bear's big hand? Or was...

the door pushed open while I was still thinking who was knocking. A lady dressed in blue and red lace walked in, and she held a tray of teacup and kois.

I wasn't surprised to watch her smile at me, but I just kept my tired mouth in a gawp, as if I was a looking zombie.

"the prince said then something to keep you warm, so you can have this."she said, handling the tray of meal.

I looked at her face and then,her eyes which looked sort of all gloomy. Without accepting the offer in the first place, I glared at her.

"Who are you?"

She rather smiled, just like mother which made me remembered the family again. I wondered if that's smile was a bad one before she spoke.

"I am Xena and I live as a maid in the demon's castle of Prince Merlin."she said so politely and much more proudly."it's my Honor serving you this."she bowed before me.

I slowly accepted the tray as I tried going back to her speech which she just said now.

She was Xena? She was a mate, And she was actually saying that the guy with emerald eyes was the prince of the demons Castle? and she also bowed to a prisoner like me?

I looked at her and smile"thanks. you can leave"

then she left.

I look around and kept the tray on the floor. then I sat by it.

a bigger wondering why the prince had to send me a trail of warm food after he had done more harm than good to my people. you must have told Xena the poison the food, maybe. and what if I had to eat it and I die? Well, demons never poisoned, I thought.

I shifted the food and laid on the terrazo floor. I thought of the family. how spiritual they must have been staring at my face, watching to see what would happen to me. Tears took its way down to my cheeks.I wondered why the demon shouldn't have to take my life and let me rest with my family , since he had to kill everyone and accomplish his mission.

"I want to die"I cried, my voice echoing around the dungeon.
