Father: "Okay, let's go and meet her today."
Sofie: "Thank you, Dad."
Mother: "I'll pack snacks for her."
After an hour, Max also woke up. I played with him for a while, then around 11 o'clock, we all went to the orphanage. Since it's near our house, we walked there.
Shinny was already in the park. Upon seeing me, she ran and hugged me.
Shinny: "I have been eagerly waiting for you since morning. It felt so hard…"
Prisci: "My little pie, did you have breakfast?"
Shinny: hesitantly "No."
Prisci: "Come, let's have some first."
Mother and father left to meet the orphanage management. I opened a box of pancakes. Shinny was shining brightly and said, "I love pancakes… It tastes just like my mom's…"
After eating a full cake, she took a piece and went near Max to feed him. He took it from her with a smile.
Then she took another piece for herself and fed him again. After eating, they both started playing in the park, laughing brightly. Prisci's face beamed with joy at the sight of them.
After a while, my parents returned from the office with the orphanage Manager. They completed all the necessary paperwork, and he happily informed us that we could take her home.
Upon hearing this news, Shinny's eyes welled up with tears, and she was engulfed in a warm embrace by her new parents.
Shinny: "Thank you for taking me."
Then Shinny and I went to her room to take her belongings. It was just a suitcase, and she made sure to take
her diary with her.
Then, with everyone, we made our way back home. In the evening, we decided to throw a small welcome party. Max and Shinny quickly became inseparable, giggling and exploring every nook and cranny of the house.
Around 3 o'clock, Shinny, Prisci, Max, and I embarked on a shopping spree for Shinny's essentials. Meanwhile, Mom and Dad busied themselves with preparations for the night's dinner. Prisci chose lots of dresses for Shinny; she liked having a girl child. After our shopping, we went to the Little Man Ice Cream shop.
Then we reached home. Shinny showed all her dresses to Mom and Dad. She then hurried upstairs to change into her favorite purple dress, eager to show it off to Mom. However, her excitement was dampened upon overhearing a conversation about Prisci leaving for vacation.
A heavy silence hung in the air as Shinny grappled with the news. She liked spending time with Max. My father came there and saw her standing and crying, then called her. Hearing his voice, Mom, and Prisci noticed her. She dashed towards the back garden, her heart heavy with sorrow.
I was already there setting up the barbecue. She just ran past me.
Sofie: "Shinny, wait! What happened? Don't run, you'll get hurt."
But it was too late. In her haste, Shinny lost her footing and stumbled, scraping her knee against the
rough ground. Blood trickled from the wound, staining her clothes.
