Episode _4

Hiyoura's legs were moving on their own, pulled by a hand she couldn't see clearly in the dark. Her heart was pounding, the blood still wet on her fingers, the man's dying face flashing again and again in her mind.

Hiyoura _ let go of me who are you where are you taking me

The hand didn't let go. They kept running until they turned into a narrow alley far behind the store, away from the shouting and the flashing police lights. Finally the grip loosened.

Hiyoura _ she yanked her hand back and turned around ready to fight

When she saw his face under the dim streetlight, she froze. It was the same cold eyed man from before, the one who had been ordering his men around, the one everyone called Xenii.

Hiyoura _ you .. you are that mafia man the one who was giving orders

Xenii _ he leaned against the wall arms crossed breathing barely heavy at all and you are the clumsy little queen who almost got herself arrested for a murder my own men set up

Hiyoura _ wh.. what do you mean set up

Xenii _ my men were framing someone tonight it just happened to be that unlucky man who is now dead and you walked right into the middle of it like an idiot he said it flatly no anger in his voice just amusement

Hiyoura's hands were shaking. She looked down at the blood on her fingers again.

Hiyoura _ her voice cracked I have never seen a person die in front of me before

Xenii _ he studied her for a moment, something unreadable crossing his face before he looked away first time seeing blood and you still tried to play hero and stop a beating that's either very brave or very stupid

Hiyoura _ she looked at him with her ocean blue eyes still full of shock why did you save me then if your own men caused all this

Xenii _ he smirked, but it didn't quite reach his eyes because a dead body is convenient but a queen arrested for a murder she didn't commit brings too many people asking questions I don't need attention right now that's all

Hiyoura _ she frowned so it was for your benefit not mine

Xenii _ he tilted his head slightly, watching her expression change from fear to irritation in seconds does it matter the outcome is the same you're alive

Hiyoura didn't understand why her heart was beating so fast, whether from fear or something else, but before she could argue further, they heard Kawaki's voice calling from the main street.

Kawaki _ Hiyoura! Hiyoura where are you! oh my child what happened to your hands

Kawaki came running with Roha right behind him, both of them out of breath.

Roha _ oh great now she's covered in blood too I told you she attracts trouble like a magnet

Xenii _ he quickly stepped back into the shadows before Kawaki could see him properly, but not before throwing one last glance at Hiyoura we'll meet again clumsy queen count on it

Hiyoura turned to say something back but the alley was already empty. He was gone, like he had never been there at all.

Hiyoura _ she whispered to herself who does he think he is .. calling me clumsy hmph but she found herself staring at the empty alley a little too long

Kawaki wrapped his coat around her shoulders, not asking too many questions yet, just relieved she was safe. As they walked home, Hiyoura kept glancing back, unable to shake off the strange feeling in her chest — an odd mix of anger and something warmer she didn't have a name for yet.

Meanwhile, Xenii walked back toward his men, hands in his pockets, the smirk still on his face.

Xenii _ so the little queen has a temper and doesn't even know who her real enemies are yet .. this is going to be fun
