Slay The Vales

Slay The Vales

Episode 1 (part one)

After 200 years (part one)

______________________________________________

Around 200 years ago, a man wielding a dark energy began transforming humans into humanoid creatures known as the 'Vales'. Over time, our population dwindled as we struggled to resist them.

But hope is never truly lost. A man emerged who could control the dark power. His name was Louis Valentine. He strengthened himself and defeated the King of the Vales. Yet, his victory came at a cost. Louis fell ill and lost his life, and the Vales spread across the world.

Perhaps fate didn’t want humanity to end. A ray of light emerged from the ground and spread into thousands of parts. Wherever it landed, it created energy barriers, granting nearby people mystical powers.

As both humans and Vales evolved, humanity struggled to survive within these barriers, where the Vales couldn't enter.

Scene: Over the Rumble Ocean

Birds circle, hunting their prey. On the shore lies a bustling city on a huge island, with crowded streets and a towering structure resembling the Tokyo Tower.

This is Paxia, a state of Loxia, and my home city.

As we understood our powers, we formed a system to guide the world, called Slayers (Strategically Locate And Yield Efficient Recovery Solutions). The main teams are scouts, research, defense, and government.

Scene: A High School Classroom

Now, let's enter this school, where our story begins.A female teacher with long black hair and green eyes is teaching the same history as mentioned before.

"Only 30 percent of the population can use Kie," she said.

Though she is not our main character, look at the back, in the corner by the open window, where the wind stirs his brown hair. His brown eyes glow with a sense of purpose, even as he stares outside, unfocused. That's me.

I am Liod Kennedy, and today is the worst day of my life. What was I thinking?"

Maybe I was thinking about learning a new move with my Kie," I mused.

"Liod," the teacher called softly. But I was lost in my thoughts.

She lost her temper. "Liod!" she snapped, slamming the table.

Still no response."Now you’ve done it," she muttered, throwing a piece of chalk.

I almost saw it coming, but time seemed to slow down, and I couldn't react in time.

BANG! It hit, and I fell from my chair. "Ouch!" I held my forehead as everyone laughed.

"Liod!" she called again.I panicked and stood up.

"Y-yes, sis Amanda?"

"Don’t call me that in class."

"Sorry, Miss Amanda."

The bell rang just then. She sighed. "Class dismissed."

I let out a deep breath, but she pointed at me. "And you, Liod, meet me after school."

"What?"

"I expect a 'yes'."

"Ok, ma'am," I replied hopelessly. As everyone left, I sat on my chair.

A guy with spiky yellow hair approached me cheerfully. "Hey, looks like someone’s having a hard time again."

"Hey, Max," I said quietly. This idiot is Max, my best friend. His yellow eyes and hair can be annoying, but he’s a good guy.

"What did you do before this to get punished?" Max asked.

" Yesterday I banged a bully’s head on the piano for picking on a boy. Before that, I set fire to the lab during an experiment. And before that—"

"Ok, ok, I get it," Max interrupted. "Damn, a topper like you causing trouble in school. Not only that, you’re perfect at everything."

Yes, I was a topper somehow.

"Whatever, let's eat lunch," I said, looking for my lunch box but not finding it.

"What happened?" Max asked."I didn’t bring my lunch box."

"Damn, I never saw you forget something."

"Well, guess Mister Perfect isn’t that perfect after all," said a girl with purple hair.

"So what, Mira?" I replied. This is Mira, our other best friend. She has purple hair and brown eyes.

"Ahem! If you beg on your knees, I might share my lunch with you," she said proudly.

I ignored her and pretended to talk to Max. "Yes, Max, I’ll return the money tomorrow. Let’s eat in the cafeteria."

"Hey, don’t ignore me!" Mira yelled.

"You should give her food a try, at least," Max said. Mira nodded.

"Because she always wanted you to eat her homemade food—like a couple," Max added. Mira was a bit surprised.

"You idiot!" she yelled, throwing her food at Max. He dodged, and Mira ran out of the class, embarrassed.

"Damn, it was just a joke," Max muttered to himself, not noticing the food landing near me.

I made a green Kie sword and glared at Max. "Wait, Liod, let's talk this out. WAIT!" he yelled.

Rest in peace, Max.
