Chapter 2: Origin of Birth (2)

Enzo smiled, creating a curve in the corner of his mouth, making his eyes almost closed. It was not a forced smile, it was not a genuine smile either. Maybe it was a smile of reassurance?

"I have heard of you and your powers."

The word 'power' immediately caused a disturbance to my heart. What does this man know about me? The beating of my heart became loud and fast and I quickly became vulnerable as if standing there ***** for the them to see all of me. I took a step back unconsciously as if my feet already wanted to run away. But, I knew I shouldn't and I tried to stay calm.

"My mom said that you are an Ally…"

A surprise expression formed quickly. But, only for a matter of seconds. He quickly returned to his old expression of that smile.

That smile. Why is it so hard to read what he is thinking? That smile is making me doubtful of my mother's ability to see the future.

'I think you got the wrong person, ahm-- Your Majesty?'

He laughed at my serious remark. I did not understand whether he was teasing or he just wanted to get my attention. But, if it was to get my attention, it was working like magic as I was curious as well as to what this man knew about me.

"Princess, right? That's what they call you. Then, I should be correct."

Enzo turned around, leaving me curious on the spot where I suddenly felt empty. For a second, I forgot Raaz's complete presence until he spoke in a low voice.

"Are you ready to leave?"

I glanced at his intimidating figure. The air around him seemed so unapproachable. I just nodded in response as I felt the dryness of my throat slowly invading inside.

He led me straight to a long quiet hall. Suddenly, I was surrounded by a cold feeling coming from the hall. There was not much to see as the walls that would usually have paintings displayed over them were plainly empty. Why do I feel like we were the only people walking in the wall?

"Is anyone here?"

"No."

He plainly replied, sounding uninterested.

"Hmm…"

"We're here."

I looked around a little more and finally settled my eyes to what was in front of us. It was a dark closed wooden door.  I felt something. What is it? I did not know how to explain it.

Raaz opened the door slowly and I realized the door wooden was thick and heavy as it made a small heavy sound. The inside of the room was pitch dark as the windows were covered in blankets to avoid the light sipping through.

From where I was standing, the cold atmosphere overwhelms the entrance as it spreads outside the hall.

"Why are we here…?"

"Majesty wanted to see what you were capable of."

"Does he really think I have powers?"

He looked at me as an answer, gesturing for me to enter the cold dark room. What is there to expect? I could not see anything as my eyes were having a hard time adjusting to the darkness. I walked slowly, carefully placing my feet into the surface of where I was walking.

'Throne.'

My eyes looked ahead, focusing at the end of the hall where I saw a shadow of a throne placed in the middle of an empty space. There was a majestic feel to it as if there was a person sitting there and waiting for an audience.

"Hello?"

I called in a weak voice, trying to get rid of the dryness in my throat. The echoes answered back back with a hello. But, no one was there. I approached closer as if my body was getting pulled by the gravity of the throne. I did not resist and follow my instinct.

As I approached the throne closer, my thoughts started invading inside me. I felt foreign to this place, but the throne gave me a sense of familiarity. As soon as I got closer, I realized how huge the throne actually was. I touched it and felt nothing. But, it got me curious as to why I was there alone, looking at the throne that attracted me in an ineffable way.  My hands run through the hard surface of the seat. Again, there was nothing special about it. But, I did not understand what is the curiosity that was building inside me. Finally, I sat on the throne.

The moment I sat on the crystalized throne, I felt that time had stopped for a second. No, it was for a minute. Then, I recalled what my mother told me when I asked about Father.

[Once you meet him, You'll know who he is.]

What did it mean? I did not understand at first.

I closed my eyes and saw a figure that was standing in front of me. My heart beat fast, surprised at the sudden appearance of a stranger standing in front of me. He was looking down at the floor, taking his time to occupy and gain his presence.

[You are born with his eyes, my love]

I knew my mother would not lie to me. I know she was telling me the truth when she said that my father has the same eyes as mine and that when I meet him, I will know who he is. But, standing in front of me was not human. I was at the presence of a God.

He smiled, acknowledging my presence in the room.No words came out of my mouth as I was utterly speechless.

"It has been a long a time and now, I have finally meet you."

He calmly said.

"Is this why I am here?"

"Your purpose is bigger than you think."

I tightened my grip on the hard surface of the throne. It was the last thing I remember before I passed out.
