Episode 1 - The beginning after the end

New York, Roof of "Freedom Tower"

I never believed that I will see the end of the world with my own eyes, but here I am. One of those who were lucky enough to survive through hell in these past two years. No, even more, fate gave me the privilege to last for that long, to be the last living human in the entire universe, who have to fight against these creatures, who are unknown with demand in food, water, sleep or any other aspects which makes us human, all what they need is human flesh.

In the beginning, everyone called them "beast " with their level of danger but later was created a public bibliography where you can find information about every beast which was seen.

Meanwhile, my memorials were ended by the sound of a cracking door that separates me from the tremendous horde of starving creatures, who were once humans.

Now I have two options. One of them jumps from the edge and die without pain and fighting. Another one is fighting back. I'm not a superman or a main character from comics and manga, who will fight till the end. But...

"Lucas, I praise lord every day for letting me stay by your side, for every second which I can share with you. I love you!"

  After hearing this from one who I deeply love. Who sacrifice her life to let me live. I will never forgive those who created this virus and make the word in a bloody bath.

"I will fight till the end!"

At this very moment stream of blood dye skyscraper, which once was called Tower of Freedom, but eventually, everything has its end. I'm not an excuse. And my last thoughts were about my family and about her, the one who gave me the reason to live in this crazy world.

"If... If only I... I could have a second chance..."

Switzerland, Private International School in Alps

"Can you say the definition of the electromagnetic field?"

"Lucas, who do you think I'm asking?"

"Lucas!!"

  As soon as Professor Fair finished his last word whole class contemplate Lucas suddenly jumping from the chair in frighten and hitting accidentally his head. Of course, everyone thought that this was due to him falling asleep on the physic lesson, whereas a real reason was completely different.

 (What? I'm alive? But... But how? Wait why I'm feeling shorter and younger?) Then I have a quick look at myself and my surroundings. I wasn't able to finish the brainstorm when I felt an intense headache, which felt as if someone was sucking my life. Such a sharp pain couldn't be caused by hitting a window, but it reminds me of the feeling when I was trying to use advanced abilities. With every second this pain grows and my body weakens. (I have to leave the classroom as soon as possible and check what the hell is going on, but firstly breathing technique to calm down). It has been only a couple of seconds when mine and Prof. Fair's eyes met. At that very moment, I already had an idea of what was happening and what I should say because I left with a bit of time before I faint. I could feel it.

"Lucas, are you ok? How do you feel?"

"Sorry sir, for my behavior. I was fine at the beginning of the session, but a couple of minutes ago I felt dizzy and the best solution which came in my mind was to close my eyes."

"But do you feel better now?"

"I do feel better now if to speak about dizziness, but it was replaced with a strong headache. If it won't be hard I would like to go back to the house to get treatment from my house parent to stop this."

"Ok, I will do this right now, hope you will better tomorrow!"

"Thank you, Prof. Fair, if it is possible to send me the material of today's session?"

"Yes, no problem. See you."

I quickly put everything in my backpack and left the room and run as fast as my condition allows me to my room in the boarding house. I made it just on time and then I faint in the position that from the side view it will look like I'm sleeping. When I have fainted my mind was shifted somewhere what you can name endless ocean where whole time night with lots of stars, which are so bright that they are working as a lighting and the water on which you stay against all laws of physics was azure with so many different tints. When I look around in front of me appeared half-transparent window, with light purple shade, where was written: [Congratulations! You earned enough mana for being able to move the time back to the starting point.] After this appeared another window: [This ability can be used only one time. Used 1/1], [Since you used your limit for this ability by this you met all requirements for granting permission to the Abilities Shop where you can exchange your collected mana on the ability]. When I finished reading all I have to do, to close the window is just to think about this. [Congratulations! Now you can buy abilities], straight after this I saw something similar to the game menu, where you can see the map of the area around you, your level, health bar, mana bar, abilities set and now additionally abilities shop.

   Hmmm, so my current level is 1, but mana is way bigger than it should be considering the information which was putten by force in my head. But why does it looks like this, is it my power? If yes, this explains why I was so limited by using strong abilities back then, that's all because I was charging this ability, but I never thought that my power will be based on my love for games. I think I'm the first and last person who was able to awaken and get this power. When I come to the conclusion it was already late at night, so I fell asleep, after such a long day.
