Cupid's Mistake

"Cupid! Let's go!!" Cui shouts while waiving his hands. Cupid look at her and smile and turn her head back to the coffee shop.

"I'm not done yet..." She said then raised her bow and point her arrow to the man whose drinking his coffee and scrolling to his phone. "Pew!" She said after she release the arrow and it directly shoot at the man's heart. The man suddenly stood up and automatically went out of the coffee shop, he didn't notice the waitress in the table besides the door whose also has an arrow at her back. They bumped into each other and they both fell in the ground. The waitress was at the man's top and she's now staring at him for him to get panic.

While Cupid whose in the rooftop of the building across the coffee shop just staring at them while smiling mischievously. "Let's go." Cui said at Cupid's back and also looking at the man and the waitress. Cupid frown after hearing his friend. She immediately stood up and look at him irritated. Cui just ignored it and turn his back at her. He opened the portal and walk in. Cupid don't want to follow but she already finished her task so she don't have a choice but to go back at the Love World. Where lots of cupids live...

"Good morning, Madam Ahava!" The Cupids greeted while bowing their heads after they saw Madame Ahava in her chair reading some book. Madame Ahava are their supervisor, their guider and their parent. She also the one who gave them tasks and works.

"Good morning" She greeted too and closed the book and placed it in the table. She stood up and held her hand towards the bulletin board. "Please, take your assigned tasks and go to the mortal world" She said while smiling at them. Once again the cupids bow their head and went towards the bulletin board to take their task. "Remember, Always be careful... Focused on your destineds!" Madame Ahava added before the other cupids walked out of the Hall. The others nod and the others said yes.

Madame Ahava was going to take a sit when she suddenly saw the only one paper that is posted on the bulletin board. "Cui!" She called Cui before he opened the door. Cui stopped and look at her emotionless. "Where is Cupid?" She asked with a worried in her tone. "She must be still sleep--" Cui didn't finish when the door suddenly opened.

"I'm here!" Cupid shout while raising her hand and the other is in her knee. She's gasping her breath and her sweat was dripping for running from their dormitory to here. "Sorry, I'm late" She said while smiling after that she glared at Cui whose already staring at her. "Why didn't you wake me up?" She irritatedly whispered while her forehead crease then she pout. Cui didn't answer instead he just look away.

Madame Ahava smile while staring at the two. She walked towards the bulletin board and took Cupid's task and walked towards them. She handed it to Cupid that make Cupid startled. "T-thank you, Madame Ahava" Cupid said almost whispered while bowing her head. Madame Ahava just smile and nod.

"We will be going" Cui said then bow his head, paying respect to an elder after that he grabbed Cupid's wrist and pulled her out of the room. "Wait sl-slow down!" Cupid complain while being still pulled by Cui whose now blushing.

It's already 3:10 pm, Cupid is now sitting on the branch of the tree while waiting the students to came out from the school. She's humming her favorite song while her eyes are closed. She and the guard at the gate are only there, the guard can't even hear nor see her. She opened her eyes after the song she's humming finished and once again stared at the guy whose in her task paper. "Jeffrey Salazar" She read his name written on it. "I wish I can be your destined" She added then pout. "But of course, it won't happen because your a mortal while I... I'm a Cupid" She said with a bit of a sad in her tone before she sigh.

"You like him?" Cui said out of nowhere while standing at the ground and directly looking at Cupid. Cupid was startled after she sees cui whose looking at her with his poker face. "W-what are y-you doin-ng here?" Cupid asked but Cui didn't answer instead he just stared at her eyes. After a minute, Cui turn his back and walked away. Cupid was about to call him when the bell rang.

After the bell rang, the guard open the gate and after some minutes, lots of students went out of school. Cupid sits straight and bring out her bow and arrow. Cupid started to look for the destineds. "Ahh! Found you!" Cupid shout happily after she see her, the destined girl and directly point her arrow to her. Mara Avondale is her name, she's walking with her friends and one of it is Jeffrey, the destined boy. "Pew!" She said after releasing the arrow but because she's walking the arrow went on the big rock.

Cupid scratch her head before she took one more arrow and point it in the girl. She smiled when Mara stopped from walking while looking at her phone. Cupid automatically released the arrow and it went directly on Mara's shoulder. "You okay, Mara?" One of Mara's friend asked and hold her shoulder for her to get back to her senses. Her other friends also stopped walking and now are staring at her with a worried in their faces. "Ahh, y-yeah. Let's go?" She asked while forcing herself to smile.

Cupid took a chance while they're still not walking. She again took an arrow and point it to Jeffrey whose still staring at Mara. Cupid should had already released the arrow but she hesitated when she saw on Jeffrey's face how worried he was to Mara. Out of nowhere she felt pain in her chest.

'I can't do it...'

"Released it, Cupid!!!" Cui shouted angrily whose now looking at her back furiously. Cupid startled because of Cui's sudden shouted and because of shock she released the arrow without thinking if the arrow will land to the destined. Cupid angrily looked at Cui because of startling her but she got confuse when she saw Cui's reaction. He's not looking at Cupid but his face was shocked while looking at the crowd. Cupid suddenly felt uneasy and automatically turn her attention to the direction where Cui is staring.

Her eyes got bigger making her to dropped the bow she was holding. She was shocked when she sees that the arrow didn't landed to Jeffrey but to...

someone else.

'Oh no... what have I done?'
