Jane's POV

"Happy birthday Jane!" my bestie greeted to me with a cheerful smile. "Lily, what are you doing here? I thought you're at Canada?" I said very confused.

"Silly Jane! Do you think I'll miss the birthday of my bestest friend?" She said. Lily is my best friend since highschool she often hangs out with me and I think, I really can't afford to lose her."By the way Jane, meet me later at my house I have prepared a surprise for you with someone special alright?" "Sure." I replied...

Lily's house...

All the lights were closed its very dim. I just thought this was part of her surprise. I took a look around and took my phone out to turn on the flashlight. I roamed around the house to look for her and the "special someone" she said to me awhile ago. And I've decided to go to her room. I've never thought of going to her room because it's kinda like her privacy but maybe this is the only room I've never checked.

When I got to her room I've saw her in her bed lying she's with someone. At first I didn't see the face because it's to dark. I've pointed my flashlight to them,walking closer I saw Chris, my boyfriend cuddling her. They were both asleep he'd held her tight the way he never held me.

Seconds later, Lily woke up she asked me, "Oh,Jane how long have you been here?"she asked me along with a cunning smile."Jane?" Chris woke up with a boost. I can feel tension in the room. my best friend whom I trusted so much with my boyfriend.

"You like my surprise?" she asked me. I can't help but to stare at them with anger. "You know Jane it's fate. Me and Chris really love each other we just didn't tell you because I know you'll be hurt." "Wow! so much for a trusted best friend and a loyal boyfriend! During my birthday? really?!" I said bursting into tears.

"Chris, did you even loved me?" I asked Chris." I've never loved you. I became your boyfriend because I pity you. You're always doing good things for me I appreciate it and I think being your bf is the most effective way to repay you." As soon as I heard him, I slapped him in the face. It turns out all was for pity. "I trusted you, both of you...".

I can't finish my sentences. All I felt was pain. It triggered me so hard I wanna give up. Being betrayed by the people whom you gave all trust,love,and care. So sad they look at you not with love, but pity. I ran away from them,away from the house.

I was a coward running away instead of fighting back. I got back home. I saw my mom in the kitchen. After she saw me crying she hugged me tight and asked me. "Sweetheart, are you alright?" "Mom..." I just hugged her back. I can't utter any words anymore.

That night I realized, I must not give my trust so easily to others. Because I'll ended up being held captive and I'll be able to do nothing but to cry like a b*tch.
