Chapter 2 On the other side

As the night falls into the eerie of the night

Kkkkkkk......

Phhhhhh.....

Sounds of cutting and tearing of paper echoes in the silence of the night.

Skritch....sktatch...... Of pen accompanies it to the silent retreat.

"Finally done."

"Are you done yet? Hurry up and go to sleep. It's your school tomorrow and you have to wake up early " called a deep yet tender voice.

"Yes Dad. Only a little bit of arranging is done. And then I'll quickly pack up my back in 5 minutes and then done." answered a calm and low voice hiding in its veil a little bit of panic.

"You have not even packed up your bags yet?" called Mr. Arya said to his daughter.

"Let it be. You complete your work I'll pack it for you."

Hearing this a head emerged from behind scattered book garnished with a number of pastel sheets on the top.

"oh! it's alright. I'll do it. oh let me do it first." she said as the duo started arranging.

"You should have completed your work few days before. Then you wouldn't have it piled up now" said Mr Arya.

"Hey I asked you to get the print outs you brought it later." she rebuked

"You should have simply left spaces for that and completed everything else."

As their squabble continued.

"Ok it's done" called out the girl.

"Ok Viera quickly complete your work and go to bed."

"yes dad. goodnight."

This statement was followed by the fading footsteps.

How much I hate first day of school after such a long vacation. Don't know why it just makes me nervous. Going to school after long break...

oh well . Let's just sleep. Tomorrow I'll have to wake up early.

Lights clicked out as the room plunged into darkness as the quietude of the night open the doors to world of dreams weaved with the threads of artistry.

Next Morning

" Hey be quick go to that classroom for the exam." called out a stern voice.

"yes ma'am"

"ma'am may I come in" asked a girl.

"you are half an hour late. Ok settle down quickly and here is your question paper" replied a familiar voice.

Oh no I forgot my pen.

"Hey can you please lend me your pen."

She is a senior. And she forgets her pen on an exam day.

thought the boy.

"Here you go."

Skritch Skratch.....

"Hey this isn't working." said the the girl with her voicd tinted with impatience.

"Hey what's the fuss about. What is the problem?"

"Ma'am I forgot my pen."

"What were you even thinking girl when coming to school today. Here take this pen. Now if you talk I'll confiscate your paper."

"Yes ma'am."

Ok now I have to start very quickly or I'll not be able to complete it.

Thinking this as she open her paper...

"What the heck !!!!!!

Wasn't it supposed to be an English exam how come it's maths. Oh my God what am I supposed to do now. I am doomed.

As she picked the pen with her unsteady hands trying makeout something of the question paper before her.

" Last 10 minutes. Arrange your sheets everybody. And then you can keep on writing."

"10 minutes! Oh my god what should I do. What should I do........" she panicked as it took every ounce of her strength to calm herself down.

"Last 5 minutes

1minute

.

.

and up."

"Times up student. Hand over your paper.

"Oh ump....um... " the girl hesitated trying to figure out her muddled thoughts, to say something but can't . As she handed over her paper.

She know no matter what she couldn't do anything.

"What will happen my paper was almost blank. What will happen."

As she was the brink of tears

"Viera...Viera.....Viera get up you are going to late for the school. Hurry up and get out of the bed." called a calm yet impatient voice.

"Hahhhhh....Hahhhhh." Viera got up with a start.

"Oh my god. That was a dream....

What a dream.....She thought to herself as she tried to calm herself down

Hufff...... huhhh.... it's gonna be a long day today."

Viera said to herself as she got out of the bed to get ready for the day."
