Misfortune
We're moving. Again.
Dad says that we should take it as a 'fresh start', a chance to start over. However to me, it means starting yet another school and within a year moving again.
Dad's job means we have to move around alot, he's an architect. I guess one of the great things about this is that every house we live in looks fancy and extravagant, it always pays well so the majority of the time I get what I want.
At the moment we're in the car listening to his 90s band music which I've unsurprisingly taken to love, on our way to yet another new house.

We finally reached our destination, a small village called Capetown. It was known for its cold weather and charity organisations, but as far as I know they don't get a lot of visitors so practically everyone knows eveyone.
We drove through the town square but to my suprise we didn't stop. Where were we going?
"dad I thought we were going to our house?"
"we are sweetheart, it's just outside of town" he replied absentmindedly. Ever since mum left us five years ago he had started acting strangely, like he was trapped in a dream land. The majority of the time it feels as though I'm the adult. Looking after my dad, making sure he eats and doesn't tire himself out with the constant work. Maybe I should feel sad, pity him even, but I just don't. It's something I've grown used to I guess.
We drove out of town and went down a dirt road surrounded by forests that stretched for miles on either side. After 7 minutes we had come to the end of the stretch of road and the car came to a stop. Finally, we're here. When I got out of the car my feet landed on a nice pebble pathway leading up to a remarkable two story house... or was it a mini mansion? Who knows. The house itself was made out of polished oak wood and sanded down like it was trying to blend into the forest but failing miserably. It was gorgeous, dad really had a good taste.
Dad tried to move the car as close to the house as possible so that it was easier to move all the bags indoors. Once all our stuff was inside the house I eagerly searched in anticipation to see my bedroom. There were so many rooms to choose out of!
"this is going to take a while" I started thinking as I sighed to myself.
I must've zoned out when I suddenly felt a heavy hand on my shoulder. I squealed as I turned around to see who it belonged to.
"phew it's just you dad"
He let out a light laugh "relax, all I was going to say was that I've got a special suprise for you"
"wait really? What it is? Can I see it?" I was already imagining the possibilities. His gifts were always great, he knew exactly what to get me. I still remember the day I came home to River (my adorable husky), it was possibly one of the greatest days of my life.
"stop with the questions nosy, you'll know when you see" with that he started to pull me in the direction I could only guess was the back garden. He stopped at the back door and turned to me "you ready?"
Adrenaline pumping, I stepped outside. It was hard not to see what the suprise was, a large treehouse. It had a balcony and everything!
"Go inside and check it out, I'll go get your suitcases" he said walking back towards the house.
I couldn't contain my excitement, I've always dreamt of having a treehouse. I literally threw myself towards stairs and bolted up towards the entrance.
"Oh my god..."
