Unfortunate Bump

I waked up when I heard Laura jumping on my bed and singing the birthday song in a not so pleasant voice, but it was so funny, that I started laughing.

She grabbed one of the pillows and started fighting with me and I too played along. This feeling was so good, being able to celebrate my birthday morning like this!

We were all set for Dream town , packings were done and plans were made. All we were waiting for was Alex's arrival.

I wonder what kind of person would he be?

I didn't wanted to judge him according to Laura's view.

All preparations were made for my 19 th birthday.

It was dinner time already and we were waiting for the Thompson's Corp.'s president to arrive, exactly we were waiting for Alex.

We all rushed to the main hall after hearing the guards informing about his arrival!

Uncle was very excited but quite nervous too. I never saw him like that. Laura in her dark red velvet skirt with black blouse, was as usual a gorgeous young miss. I wore a light yellow one-piece printed with beautiful daisies. We were hurrying as we were already late. Laura rushed with me, but it was more like dragging me,the reason for delay was her only, because she wasted a lot of time fixing her hair and makeup.

After the security guards, servants and finally his butler took their places then he stepped out , wearing a creame' color suit with a brown tie, black hairs neatly made, one hand in pocket and another going through his hair as he stepped out of the black car. As we dashed towards the main hall we bumped into one of the servants carrying welcome drinks for the president, and unfortunately which uncle put in a lot of effort to prepare.

All the drinks crashed to the ground, dirtying Laura's and mine dresses. Seeing this kind of disappointing situation uncle was fuming with anger and shouted at Laura for always making trouble. I quickly stood up and helped Laura up. She said sorry for the mess she made, and by the time I was helping the servant to pick up the glass fragments, and said

"don't worry uncle, I will clean them very quick, we are really sorry! " as I apologised to him, picking up the pieces, I didn't noticed one of the glass fragments piercing my skin and blood started sliding down my fingers and down my hands!

The servant panicked and hurried to bring a first aid, Laura bent down and said to me,

"I'm sorry, you are hurt, oh God the blood is all over your hand.. "

Yes, it was a deep cut but I couldn't feel the pain as I was already worried about uncle being disappointed in us due to this situation.

Hearing Laura say that, Uncle, aunt and all the other people including Alex, rushed towards me.

Uncle was sounding quite frightened, "oh dear, what have you done silly child, oh God, someone bring the medication quickly!!! "

"it's alright uncle, it's not that deep! " I tried to calm them down.

"How is it not that deep, silly girl don't you see the blood.. Jesus!!! "

Then a calm and gentle voice said from behind...
