what the heck!?

Its been 4 years and Ive turned into a successful Forensic Psychologist now. I'm in Boston for a crime scene investigation about a 34 storey building suicide.

From what i know Liam is a well known surgeon here, this place is crazy with an abundance of opportunities, now i understand why people come here to change their lives, everything is better here. I've lost touch with him for the past one and half year due to the bumping start i had in my career.

I know nobody here, thankfully my childhood best friend Nick is here. He is currently on a chef tour, which means he usually goes to restaurants and dictate the shit out of employees. I am supposed to meet him at the 24th sizzler restaurant near the clock tower at 7 p.m. We both had a bit of free time from our hectic lives and decided to catch up on things. I am already sitting here and i see him entering inside too, He waves and smiles, holding a bouquet of red roses. We both kiss each other's cheeks and he does it at least twice just for courtesy sake.

"So....Ms.Crime Scene, what's up how's life treating you lately?" he asks casually handing over the flowers to me, although its been a decade, he makes it sound like we've been this comfortable for years.

"Hey! life's been treating me with wonderful red colours, how about you Dr.Food?" i say with a smirk patting myself on the back in my head for this childish comeback.

"Oh wonderful ! thanks for asking" he says.

"so what about that Liam guy? you still in touch?" he continues, taking a sip of his red wine which i ordered before he arrived.

Oh yeah! I totally forgot about Liam. I am suddenly reminiscing the time spent with him in the pub and the kiss we had on the bench.

"ummm..nope, we are not in touch for the past one and a half year" i say sounding disappointed. Nick noticed my my pain and didn't continue the conversation. 

I am thinking about if ill meet Liam in Boston or not. I hope not, it took me the longest time to get over him and if he appears now ill be shattered and won't be able to control myself to fall in love again.

I start taking my first sip of the red wine and Nick his second,

the restaurant door opens and somebody just yelled " YO! Brady!! come on up, new pub's in town. My shitty shift just got delayed"

this voice is so familiar and the shadow from behind is even more nerve racking, i notice more, his hair, shoulders, legs, standing posture. OH FUCK!!!!

Its Liam. LIAM BLACK!!

no no no no no, this can't be happening now.

oh my god. I really did not expect to meet him here of all the places!, that to so suddenly, I'm not prepared to face him and i don't know why. Why the hell does all the awkward things happen to me at the wrong timings.

I squeal unknowingly and He turns around. I've totally forgotten about Nick sitting right opposite to me. I'm totally certainly not in my senses. Nick is seeing all of the tension on my face.

Liam comes closure and says "Melissa ? oh my god! hi! how the hell are you here? How are you? Oh my god!."
