Chapter 4: Happy

My mom looked over at me when I entered the house, she smiled ignoring her roaring daughter, she hugged me tight holding my shoulder

"how was school?"

I looked confused and I'm sure it's written on my face

"good?"

She nods then went back to Max

"Look Max I'm not having this argument with you, go get dressed we're leaving soon"

"What?!"

I yelled

"What?"

My mom asked confused at my reaction

"We're leaving??"

"Yes? We need to get to the restaurant"

She exits the room and we'll I flushed in embarrassment Max just glared at me then stomped to the kitchen where mom was.

"Mom, if I do go there just know this, I am not gonna be of good behavior just want to put it out there"

"Like you're always on good behaviour, look at Emy so calm and collected unlike this exaggerated being I'm looking at"

I blinked, really?

Was that how people saw me

"Cause that idiot would only blink if someone slapped him, he's like a door"

"Mom"

Mom gave her a stern look

"Ughhh"

Max stomped her way up the stairs to her room, I looked back at mom who was already ready, she looked happier prettier even.....hmmm

"I'll go get ready"

"Emy, I know this is really"

"hey I know mom, you deserve good things too mkay, let me get changed real quick"

She smiled at me lovingly going over the kitchen aile to give me a peck on my head

"You're so sweet Emy"

She whispered

I smiled back at her loving smile before going up. Closing my door I let out a long sigh, this is really happening and yeah it's def gonna be new and disturbing but I can't bring myself to say no to mom...she looked happy than she has been in while

I opened my wardrobe looking over to see if I can wear anything like anything, I'm not really a cloth person but yeah I'll survive

I finally picked a New York hoodie and a black Jean with some sneakers, I ruffled my bangs to make my curls a bit rough then I put on my glasses. Yep I was reading

I snapped my head to my window when I heard a car honking, guess the urber has arrived, I got out the house to see Max grumbling in the backseat as mom talked to the driver abouy the location. I entered the car

"Hey drama queen"

Max just rolled her eyes looking out the window, I brought out my phone waiting for this night to end already

On getting there I was surprised to see a fancy restaurant in front of me, it was really screaming money, I looked here and there and everyone freaking body were wearing their best getup while Max and I looked like two homeless monkeys with her oversized hoodie and baggie pants. I felt uncomfortable but nonetheless entered after mom the receptionist took us to our reserved table and my jaw dropped all the way to the bottom of titanic.

My crush/enemy was seated with some middle-aged man looking all bling bling, he spotted me almost immediately from the side of his eye
