Prologue

Dear Octavia,

I have wanted to tell you how happy I am to get to know you since our first meeting in Japan.

It's been a year we haven't met each other in person. I really wish to see you again.

We can really talk about anything. Our favorite music or songs, how much we love tteok-bokki and how well both of us can make it, or how we have grown older by days haha.. I really miss those days.

Please reply me if you see this message. And, I'm really sorry for what I did.. for not telling you all this time.. I do love you.

January 2020, during korean Chuseok holidays, in winter..

Yeong Ho's uncle : "Yeong Ho-ya !"

Yeong Ho : "Yes, samchon ?"

Yeong Ho's uncle : "What are you doing here all alone in this cold weather? Don't you want to get inside?"

Yeong Ho : "Ah.. yes. I'm just texting someone. You should get inside, samchon. I will be alright."

Yeong Ho's uncle : "Alright then. I will wait for you inside."

During a new year celebration like today, Kim Yeong Ho always needed to gather with his family far from the city he lived. He always loved Go Heung, his childhood town, a county in South Jeolla Province, South Korea.

However, he had always felt unhappy and cranky about meeting his big family, even only for once in a year. He did love his family, but he just could not stand being among them.

One of the main reasons he would feel that way was because their family tended to ask him to get married. True. He was neither a child nor too young to be married anymore.

His older brother, 3 older sisters, parents, and some other family members had always argued about almost everything that should happen in his life. Since he was the youngest adult among them, he had to follow and listen.

Well, did he do all that?

Definitely not. He would just nod or say yes, while he felt irritated at the same time.

"Ah~~" Yeong Ho released a deep breath, as he dropped himself on his bed.

He stared at the ceiling for a short while, before starting a monologue; "What's wrong with being single? I have to listen? So annoying~~aaahhh!"

As his body moved about in complain and distress, his eyes rolled down to his phone.

Still, no reply.

(What have you been doing, Kim Yeong Ho? The one you're in love with doesn't respond to your feelings. Are you an idiot?)

Those words started to appear on his mind, judging him.

As Yeong Ho grunted a little and was about to flip his body sideways---

KA-TOK

(common message receive sound from korean messenger Kakaotalk)

His eyes widened and he immediately checked his phone. It was Octavia!

Yeong Ho-oppa. It's me. Thank you for your message. However, I still cannot forgive you for what you did to me last year.. Can we meet.. possibly.. after this corona ends?

All of a sudden, a bright blissful smile appeared on Yeong Ho's long-time-frowny-face.

"Yes!" he almost jumped in joy, and replied to the message with no further delay.

This year too, maybe, a good year for him and Octavia. Who would know?
