His smile..

Previous) Vincent walked in through the front door of the apartment he and his family stayed in. His younger brother, Anthony ran over to Vincent with a pout on his face, he pointed a finger at their pet dog (Jerry), and shouted “Jerry won’t let me taste his food!” Vincent put his coat on a hanger and made a playful shocked face while ruffling Anthony’s curly hair. “You aren’t supposed to eat dog food anyway” Anthony smacked away Vincent’s hand and crossed his arms with his hair being left messy.

Vincent walked into his room, setting his school bag aside, and flopped down onto his bed, letting out a long tired sigh with his eyes beginning to close slowly.

(Later in in the day)

Vincent soon woke up with it already being dark outside. He picked up his phone and saw that the time was approximately 8 am. He sat up in his bed and looked around before seeing his mother out of the corner of his eye making him flinch. His mother (Ms. K) crossed her arms and leaned against the doorframe. “Get up and come eat, your father is home,” She said and walked away to start setting up the dinner table.

Vincent soon walked out of his room and saw his family sitting at the table waiting for him, as he sat down his father (Mr. K) set down his fork and folded his hands together while clearing his throat. “How was everyone's day?” He spoke but the only sound he heard was the clacking of silverware, he glanced over at Anthony who was only playing on his game grumble, Vincent took away Anthony’s game and set it aside, as he pointed at his food signaling him to start eating.

(In Charlotte's house)

Charlotte sat down in the living room and switched on the television to her favorite channel, as she was setting the remote down her cousin (Mark) snatched the remote from her hand and plopped down on the couch changing the channel on the TV, she looked up at him with a shocked face, Mark glanced down at her and tilted his head to the side. “Were you about to watch the TV Charlotte?” he said as he kicked his feet up on the coffee table which made Charlotte react with a disgusted expression, and scooted away from him, she grabbed her bag and decided to start working on homework instead of watching tv as she worked on her homework she kept on glancing up at the TV from time to time, soon enough she felt her eyes growing heavy and her head suddenly tilting downwards to rest on the table.

Later on, it became a full night, she woke up with drips of saliva on the side of her cheek and homework paper. She lifted her head off the table and saw that all of the lights were off in the living room. She looked around and saw her uncle sitting at the dining table finishing up leftover dinner from earlier. As she stared at her uncle he turned his head around and noticed her, he looked at her with a glare, and silently signaled her to go to her room and sleep.

She wiped away the drool on her cheek and picked up her homework paper she slowly got up and walked to her shared room where her other cousin (Vivian) was sleeping, Vivian woke up from her sleep and let out a tired yawn as she heard rustling of bedsheets and sat up in her bed, pointing a finger at Charlotte. “Charlotte quiet down!” She spoke and threw her duvet over her head Charlotte mumbled a small apology as she sat in her bed and moved around a little to get comfortable. She soon found herself comfortable, she took out her phone and sent a last “Goodnight” text to Vincent for the day.

When Vincent heard the sound from his phone he jolted up from his sleep, and looked at the message with a smile soon growing on his face…
