Prologue

[It’s midnight of Monday at Lina’s house]

Lina’s mom: [Sobbing and banging on the door] GET UP NOW!! NOW

Lina: [Half asleep] What’s going on!?

Lina’s mom: We have to leave the house get your sister and Jael, we have to leave to Korea.

Lina:[confused and crying] What!! I don’t want to leave please mom

Lina’s mom: For gods sake stop your selfishness for a minute the house is burning down!! Pack as much as you can and after get out as fast as possible

[Lina runs to the bedroom of her little sister Dayhun and Jael her older sister and woke them up]

Lina:[shaking Jael awake] We need to go don’t ask questions pack some clothes for the meantime and drag Dayhun out of the house

Jael:[frightened] okay, okay but whats that f****** smell?

Lina: GET THE F**** UP AND LETS GO!!

[Lina helps Jael drag Dayhun out of bed and run downstairs with the suitcases full of clothes, Suddenly Lina lets go of her suitcase]

Lina:[frustrated and coughing from all of the smoke] Oh sh** my bag

Jael:[stoped going down the stairs] Lina are you okay? Hurry the smoke is getting to you!!

Lina:[struggling] I’m okay just le-

[The large heavy painting on the wall fell on her foot and sprained her ankle, hurt Lina didn’t have the strength to pick up the painting off her foot]

Jael: Oh god!! Lina!!

[Running down the stairs, Jael tells her mom about the accident and tells her to keep Dayhun with her while she helps Lina out. While her mom tries to pack all the money and important documents that was left after being burnt.]

Jael:[running back to Lina while tripping on falling wood columns] I’m back, here let me try to get the heavy a** painting off you.

Lina:[sobbing and hurt] Wai- Wait!! It hurts pick up slowly!!

Jael:[angry] Stop yelling at me I’m trying to help you out. Cause I could have easily left your b**** a**.

[Lina’s mom got Lina and her sisters into the car so they could go to the emergency room after calling the fire department to put out the fire, Now they have entered with their assigned room.]

Doctor: Well we checked her up and it looks like she has a sprained ankle and it going to need a few weeks to heal well

Lina:[annoyed] Well aren’t y’all going to but a wrap on my foot cause for a fact this hurts like a b-

Lina’s mom: Lina!! Stop being so rude [says to the doctor] Sorry we had a really rough night.

Doctor: Yeah it’s fine, we’ll I’ll be back in a few minutes I’m going to get the wrap

[The doctor leaves and Lina’s mom sits down frustrated about their situation.]

Lina: Mom what happened, how did the fire start?

Jael:Yeah, how?

Lina’s mom: Well before I went to bed I lit up a candle so the kitchen could lose the fish smell and when I left I took of my apron and it accidentally fell on the candle and lit the house on fire, and the worst part is that we don’t have insurance for the hous-

Jael: So we are homeless!!

Lina’s mom: Not exactly before that whole situation happened I ordered tickets to Korea to leave tommorow at 5:00 pm but since it’s almost 1 in the morning we just have to wait a little bit more.

Lina: Mom you cant be serious I’m not leaving to a whole different country are you crazy!!

Mom: Look I didn’t ask you if you wanted to go or not we are leaving

Jael: Why the f*** do we have to go all the way over there who even lives there

Mom:[yelling at her angry] First of all watch your mouth, Second your grandparents live there you smart a**

Lina: I’m leaving all my life behind just because you don’t want to buy another house

Mom:[Arguing with Lina] Do I look like I have the money to buy another house, in that neighborhood it was expensive enough to own that house

Jael: Well it’s not my fault your not careful and don’t blow out the candles before going to bed.

Mom: Well I could give two f***s

Lina: But mo-

Mom: End of discussion, now shut up before you wake up Dayhun you little selfish brats.

[The doctor comes in and wrapped the bandage around Lina’s foot and gave her some pills to numb the pain after he leaves]

Mom: okay well let’s go

Jael: Mom we don’t have no where to go

Mom: We are just going to have to rest in our car until it’s time to go to the airport

Lina: No way in hell someone is going to see me sleep in a car

Mom: Oh well “princess” you have no choice

Lina:[thinking] I’m going to kill this mother of mine

Mom: Lina, here drink this cause I don’t want you’ll asking for no water in the car because I need to save this money until we get to your grandparents

Lina:[Snatches the cup and chugs the water]

Um okay

Lina:[dizzy] Mom I don’t feel so good you sure that was water

[Lina falls on the floor]
