Episode 3 : Someone to Talk to (Tododeku)

Midoriya was acting pretty odd today. He was bumping into things, he was sweating a lot, and was stuttering more than usual. Boy, he couldn't even look at people straight in the eye... especially Todoroki.

It bothered a lot of people, a lot of his friends. Plus, All Might wasn't here so nobody could turn to him for advice.

"But he was just with Deku-kun yesterday!" Uraraka pointed out.

"That's what I said!" Iida said, doing that thing with his hands again.

"So what's wrong with him?" Sero asked with furrowed brows.

Most of the class were huddled up in a corner of the room, keeping their eyes on Mdoriya from afar. Little did they know that the boy, though he could not make their words out, could hear them from his seat. He felt their gaze burn the back of his head, but he didn't want to look back at them. He was afraid of who else might be watching.

Todoroki did not join that group of people gossiping in the corner for he was in an investigation of his own. He was not only worried for the boy but also suspicious. Because, he was with All Might yesterday. But where? And what did they do?

Todoroki decided to confront Midoriya when no one was around. He found the chance when he was alone in the hallways of the dorms. He looked like he had already calmed down a little... from the back, that is.

"Midoriya-kun," Todoroki called.

The mutated broccoli flinched upon hearing his name. He turned around and found a confused Todoroki behind him. His heart might've skipped a beat.

"Oh uh-" he looked for something else to look at, anything else would have been fine, but they were all alone in this hallway. He was all alone.

"T-todoroki-kun!" he managed to stammer. What could he say? Why was he even here? How was going to get out of this?

The other boy had already been walking towards him, his steps getting heavier and louder by the millisecond. Though he wasn't rushing himself, it felt like he was charging at Midoriya at full speed. He couldn't stop himself from shaking.

"Midoriya-kun."

The boy looked up at Todoroki then back at the floor. What was he going to do now? He was going to make a run for it.

"Actually," he started, turning away. "I have to go do something."

"Wait-" Todoroki grabbed Midoriya's arm. He couldn't have anymore of this.

"Why have you been acting so off lately?" he continued. "Is it something I did? Because if it is, I know we can probably set things right."

Midoriya didn't say a word. He couldn't. He completely froze in place.

What was he going to do? What was he going to say?

"Please," the other boy continued. "Just talk to me."

"I-I..."

They were both now in Midoriya's bedroom, sitting in the silence. Todoroki let the boy arrange his thoughts so he could at least talk properly. Though he wasn't that eager, he knew that Midoriya needed someone to talk about it to. Plus, All Might wasn't here, so he had to be a friend.

Midoriya, on the other hand, was nervous. He was afraid of what Todoroki might say. He was afraid of what might happen if he told him. He was afraid of what his friends or the people around him might think of him. Being pre-quirkless was one thing, but being... whatever this was was another thing. But now was the best time to tell him.

"T-todoroki-kun?" he finally said, turning to his friend beside him.

He looked highly attentive to the green-haired boy. Like a dog to its human.

"We're friends, right?" he asked.

Todoroki nodded.

So they were friends. But, friends could still turn on each other.

How am I going to do this?

"U-um so-"

Todoroki noticed that Midoriya had lost his composure again and took his hand. He was picking on his fingertips again. He did that when he was nervous.

"Just tell me," he said. "I promise, I'll be here for you."

And by that, Midoriya spoke up: "I think I might be into guys."

They sat in silence for a while.

Todoroki was taking it all in, his eyes widening a little and going back to normal. He was confused. A million questions were arose in his head. So he likes guys? But what about Uraraka-kun? Wait so Bakugo-

"I know you probably think bad of me now and that's okay," Midoriya whispered, his voice softly cracking. "I think I'm weird too. And I think it's okay if you don't wanna be friends anymore."

"No." Todoroki tightens his grip on Midoriya's hand. His family's always been so messed up and this little cinammon roll might've been the best thing that's happened to him. He actually likes his presence and just because he's gay doesn't mean he's weird. Plus, Todoroki had something to say too.

"Midoriya-kun," he started. "I don't mind that you're gay.-" he paused-"Plus, you're not the only one into men."

Midoriya looked up at him slightly. "What do you-"

"What I'm trying to say is that I know how it feels like to be confused and lost. I know how it feels to be- you know-"

Midoriya blinked a few times and looked at his hand, the one which Todoroki held so tightly. It was as if...

"Todoroki-kun I didn't know- I didn't mean to-"

"It's okay," he chuckled.

Then followed more silence... until Todoroki decided to break it.

"So who is it?" he asked Midoriya.

He wiped his eyes with his sleeve and sniffed. "Uh... nobody."

Todoroki looked at the boy beside him. He was shaking again. "What do you mean 'nobody'? There must have been someone who turned you."

"Uhm, why don't you go first?"

"Hm," Todoroki thought. How was he going to say this?

"I'm sorry, it's fine if you don't want to I was just-"

"He's really nice," Todoroki started. "He helped me go through things I never thought I'd go through-" he turned to his side-"and he's sitting right next to me. Right now."

Midoriya flustered. "Oh."

"Your turn."

"You."

The smaller boy couldn't move or speak after that. He just couldn't handle the atmosphere of the room right now.

"Todoroki-kun I-"
