This was a little story for my English teacher. So this is basically my homework. Lol. It suppose to be a situational irony story. I don’t really know if I really got that across through the story. I kept coming up with ideas for it but I don’t think any of them really did have that irony. But I think the story’s pretty weird nonetheless. I would say I could write the other ideas I had come up with for you guys, but I had deleted them after I settled with this one. Lol. Anyway, this was so short that I had to add an intro to make it 500 words. Lol. Well, hope you enjoy the story.
The morning sun glares through the curtains rushing the young woman to wake up from her night filled with dreams. The woman awoke to close the curtains and wipe the sleep dust from her eyes. She makes her way towards the kitchen to grab herself a cup of coffee to help keep her eyes open. While waiting for her coffee, she checks the time, 9:03 am. She thought to herself ¨he's probably already at his desk, taking phone calls as he tries to write down little memos for himself.¨ She chuckles at the thought. Her loving thoughts came to an end as her coffee maker started to squeal at her. She took her coffee to the living area making graceful and swift movements as she sat down to turn on the TV. News started to flash at her: businesses crumbling, affairs, deaths, and many more topics. She didn't mind them and, instead, for her, it was just background noise as she cuddled up to search through her phone. It was a calming scene, nothing but the morning sun shining on the beautiful girl as she curled up, scrolling through pics and comments with blurring words in the background. It lasted for quite some time, and soon it was already 11:37 am. She quickly made herself some breakfast. As she ate, she kept glancing down to look at her left hand. They were subtle movements until she realized that something was missing. She threw down her silverware, bringing her left hand closer to her eyes. Her eyes started to dance around at the sight of her bare hand. Her wedding ring was not on her finger. The young girl frantically searched the apartment. Looking under pillows, behind tables, underneath the bed, the bathroom, hoping maybe it would be somewhere there. But to her devastation, it was nowhere to be found. However, it didn't last long. And the girl recovered from her devastation and replaced her frown with a smile. ¨Well, I have been hoping to get rid of it since we got divorced.¨ She laughed and started to make herself some lunch.
What did you think? This was my homework so
I will be graded anyway...
I had to add this to the end so I could have 500 words lol.
