A handsome young man stepped out of the plane, ignoring the greeter's welcome. "Take me to meet my future in-laws," he said, striding elegantly toward his black car.
At the office, hurried footsteps echoed outside. A woman in a formal dress rushed in, panic etched on her face.
The middle-aged man seated inside remained silent, waiting for the door to slam open. When it did, the woman entered, breathless.
"Sir, I apologize for barging in without notice, but I must report something important," she said, trying to calm down.
"Go ahead," the man replied, sipping his tea before focusing on the woman.
"It's about the young master from the Lillard family, the young miss's fiancé. He arrived this afternoon and is heading straight to your building," the woman managed to say without pause.
"As I expected. Just tell them to come in when they arrive," the man instructed, eyes on his laptop.
"Yes, sir," his secretary replied before leaving.
The middle-aged man dialed a number. "Bring her here," he said, hanging up without waiting for a response.
At the forest villa, a young woman was being dressed by her attendants. Her butler cautioned, "Young miss, you'll meet someone important today. Master hopes you'll behave."
"Don't worry, I'm not a child who needs reminders," she replied coldly, gazing into the mirror.
As they left the villa, the young woman led the way to the city. In the car, she remained silent.
At the office, the young man who arrived earlier sat before the middle-aged man and his wife. "You said she'd arrive in a few minutes, but it's almost an hour," he remarked, watching them intently.
"Mr. Stanford, you do know I hate waiting, right?",the young man added.
A while later footsteps approached, and the door opened. A beautiful young woman entered, greeting the middle-aged man.
"Good afternoon, Father, Mother," she said, bowing.
The middle-aged man and his wife nodded, gesturing for her to sit.
"Uncle, your daughter is stunning!" the young man exclaimed, scanning her.
"His name is Damian Lillard, your fiancé," the middle-aged man introduced.
"Understood," the young woman replied flatly, ignoring the young man.
(Tsk, I don't even know him, and Father gave me away without my consent. Why bother opposing when he won't take my objections seriously? He might even punish me for speaking up.) She thought, gazing past the young man.
"Damian, this is my daughter, Zin Stanford," Mr. Stanford introduced.
Damian smiled charmingly. "It's an honor to meet you, Ms. Stanford. Perhaps we could discuss the proposal later? I'd like to give you time to adjust."
Zin's expression remained neutral, her silence a stark contrast to Damian's affability.
The meeting concluded, and Damian persisted in inviting Zin to dinner dates. He also assigned his men to follow her everywhere, making Zin increasingly cautious.
Weeks passed, and Zin's patience wore thin. She confronted Damian over the phone.
"Why are you sending men to follow me everywhere?" she demanded.
"I just want to keep you safe," Damian reassured.
"I don't need excessive protection. I have my own people, and I can protect myself," Zin countered.
Damian's tone turned pleading. "I'm worried about you, my dear. Let me protect you."
Before Damian finished speaking, Mr. Stanford intervened, "Zin, don't be stubborn. It's for your own good."
Zin reluctantly agreed, ending the call.
Meanwhile, at a lavish mansion, Damian and Mr. Stanford conversed.
"Mr. Stanford, you have remarkable control over her," Damian observed.
Mr. Stanford smiled. "As the richest person, there's nothing I can't control."
Their laughter echoed through the mansion.
A month later, Damian proposed, and Zin accepted, feeling trapped by her family's expectations.
A week before their wedding, Zin decided to surprise Damian at his apartment. As she entered, she overheard a woman's voice.
"Honey, why don't you break up with her and stay with me instead?" the woman asked seductively.
Damian's response sent Zin's world crashing down. "Don't worry, honey, I'll do that after I get what I want."
"Their money," they chimed in unison, followed by sinister laughter.
Zin's anger boiled over. She stormed into the room, slamming the door open.
"What is the meaning of this?!" she thundered, her eyes blazing.
Damian's expression turned smug. "No use hiding it now. You've heard everything."
Zin's slap sent Damian flying, his teeth scattered across the floor.
"How dare you! Kill this b*tch!" Damian spat, enraged.
Black-suited men emerged from the shadows, attacking Zin with deadly precision. She fought back, her advanced strength and agility evident as she took down several assailants.
The battle raged on:
Zin dodged a swinging sword, countering with a swift kick that sent her attacker crashing into the wall.
She disarmed another, using his own momentum against him.
A third assailant lunged, but Zin sidestepped, landing a devastating punch that shattered his jaw.
As the fight intensified, a sniper on the opposite building took aim. Zin, distracted by the melee, didn't notice the danger lurking in the shadows.
The sniper fired.
Zin's eyes widened as the bullet struck her chest. She stumbled, losing balance.
The remaining attackers seized the opportunity, pinning Zin down.
As she struggled, they overpowered her, dragging her to their waiting car.
The vehicle sped away, heading toward the mountainous outskirts. At the cliff's edge, they tossed Zin's battered body into the abyss.
As she plummeted, Zin's mind reeled with the betrayal, her world shattered by the people she trusted.
Zin's body hurtled toward the rocky terrain, her mind racing with thoughts of Damian's deception. She struggled to comprehend the extent of his betrayal.
As she fell, Zin's advanced strength faltered, unable to slow her descent. She landed hard on the rocky ground, the impact sending shockwaves through her body.
Her vision blurred, and her thoughts grew cloudy.
With a faint whisper, Zin's eyes closed, her body succumbing to the fatal injuries. Her last thought was of Damian's treachery, and the desire for revenge.
As her life force faded, a strange, pulsating light enveloped Zin's body. The light grew brighter, until it vanished, leaving behind only silence.
Zin's body lay still, her chest motionless. The sound of wind rustling through the trees was the only sign of life in the desolate landscape.
But little did anyone know, Zin's story was far from over. Her soul, now free from its mortal coil, began a journey through the realms, seeking rebirth and a chance for vengeance.
