Chapter 1: Second Chance

(Flashback from chapter 67 the final chapter)

Currently, Seungbae is at the Police Office to look for more evidence regarding the death of Min Jeun (the girl was killed by Yoonbum).

Because he was also confident that Chief Park's suicide was connected to the incident. When he was suddenly interrupted by his cellphone ringing

When he answered the call, YoonBum's voice came through, asking for a ride because he didn't know how to get back to the hospital and had no money left. Upon hearing this, Seungbae immediately left.

When he comes in YoonBum's location.

he saw Yoonbum awkwardly go inside the car in the car.

when YoonBum finally boarded, he apologized

YoonBum: im... Sorry... I asked you to pick me up, I know you're busy.

(saying this to Seungbae while bowing in shame)

Because of this, Seungbae couldn't help but shout at Yoonbum for his stubbornness and said

Seungbae (police officer): Mr. YOON!! DO YOU THINK THAT'S THE PROBLEM NOW!?

Yoonbum was shock, which was clearly visible on his face that he's regret it

Seungbae (police): Are you trying to get to Joon Gang Hospital?

YoonBum: N-no...

(soft answer)

Seungbae: You're there, aren't you?, you're in the hospital district...

Seungbae: even though Joongang Hospital is in the opposite direction.

Seungbae: Did you tell anyone that you're going there?

- and don't even think about lying anymore.

Yoonbum: I told a friend.

Seungbae: friend? How many years have you known this friend?

- It's not that important.

- you can be friends for 40 years and still betray each other...

- I can't find the words to say because you're so stupid... (he said this but he immediately regretted what he said to Yoonbum)

- No... (he regret what is he said to yoonbum)

Suddenly, Seungbae's tone of speech towards Yoonbum changed and change into calm tone, and he wanted to explain that he was only concerned about his safety, and he said to him:

Seungbae: Mr. Yoon... I didn't tell you because I didn't want you to worry.

-but the public opinion is neither good nor bad at the moment.

-they are looking into your case and investigating everything about you in great detail.

- I told you that you are about to be released, you have been proven innocent! You need to be careful!

- please, let me help you

his remarks to Yoon Bum, but he noticed that he was just bowing his head and looking at the ground, he added:

Seungbae: Stop looking down, you just made a mistake, you didn't commit a crime. (sigh*)

Seungbae: we are here

Yoon Bum walked down with his head bowed and walk away, as if he felt every word Seungbae had said to him.

Note: After Yoonbum retrieved Sangwoo's ashes, Seungbae went to Yoonbum to apologize for his words two days ago.

During his visit, he found that Yoonbum was not in his hospital room and had also left his phone. Because of this, Seungbae immediately searched for Yoonbum.

He went to Joongang Hospital but it was too late; Yoonbum had already left and Sangwoo's Ashes had been taken

Yoonbum returned home carrying Sangwoo's ashes, he saw traces fire in every corner of the house and some parts of the house burned.

When he entered, he went to the kitchen where their memories with Sangwoo were, but no matter how much he looked, it was no longer the same as before, which only made hes pain and sadness heavier.

then he went to the room because of the deep longing after Sangwoo's death, and when he returned his gaze, he saw Sangwoo turned away from the kitchen

Because of that, he didn't notice his path and tripped over the sliding door, causing him to fall on the floor and unexpectedly spill Sangwoo's ashes.

Sangwoo's scattered ashes were laid out on the floor, and he held them, his face showing shock. For a moment, a flashback suddenly hit him of what Sangwoo had said back then.

Sangwo: "she said I would die... in the most painful way." *end of flashback

and suddenly all his memories of Sangwoo came rushing back, but Sangwoo's face was now just a blur in his memory. He looked at the ring he was holding, which he was supposed to give to Sangwoo, and said

Yoonbum: "I want to put this ring on her finger..."

Yoonbum: "But now I can't take it anymore."

(laughing with sorrow)

He looked at the ashes falling from his hand and said

Yoonbum: "look at how you ended up like this"

He couldn't help but touch his face out of sheer hopelessness at the thought of never seeing Sangwoo's face again and utter the words

"I can't remember Sangwoo's face."

while crying, calling out Sangwoo's name

"Sangwoo... Sangwoo... waahhhh"

while Yoonbum was sobbing on the floor, Sangwoo suddenly appeared, approached him, and he kiss and hugged him while he was lying down, but then he suddenly disappeared

because he suddenly sat up from his lying position when he heard his name being called, as if it were Sangwoo's voice

immediately searched for the source of the voice, looking for it in every corner of the house, but he cant see where the voice come from,

When he looked outside, he saw Sangwoo standing at the gate, bringing him back to life, but his image was blurry.

He saw him leaving so he immediately followed him outside, he was walking away quickly even though hes steps were very calm. No matter how fast he chased him, he was still very slow. He called him but it seemed like he couldn't hear him.

Yoonbum: Sangwoo... Sangwoo wait!!

He followed it through the winding paths it took until it brought him to the road, looking around because he was searching for where Sangwoo had gone.

After a moment, he saw sangwoo and there was a woman with him who had her arms around his shoulders. He couldn't see the woman's face because she was turned away from him. He saw that they seemed to be crossing to the other side.

When he saw this, he couldn't help but cry and be confused by what was happening.

Yoonbum: Sangwoo?? - why... How..?

Yoonbum: Who's the woman next to you? - who is she to you??

even though he was out of breath, he called out sangwoo's name

yoonbum: SAANGWOO NOO!!!

Yoonbum: I TOLD YOU! I won't let you.

he said while tears streamed down his face, but Sangwoo seemed indifferent and continued to walk away

Yoonbum saw that it was getting away, so he didn't hesitate to run towards Sangwoo.

but unfortunately, the traffic light turned red, signaling that it was no longer safe to cross, but he continued on, eager to get closer to Sangwoo

Due to extreme excitement, he didn't notice the oncoming vehicle, which was moving fast and caused him to be hit by it.

When the car hit him hes vision turn into dark, he immediately sprang up from lying down and realized it was all just a dream. He noticed that the surroundings that he still in sangwoo's house and its already dark outside.

He realizes that he had fall asleep for a long time from crying due to missing Sangwoo. He saw Sangwoo's ashes scattered on the floor again, which made his tears flow once more. He lay down on the floor again and cried.

After a while, he heard his name being called again.

Voice: Mr. Yoon... Mr. Yoon... Mr. Yoon

and the door suddenly opened, he couldn't see clearly who it was because Yoonbum's vision was blurry from crying too much

He thought it was Sangwoo, so he smiled while crying.

that person was immediately approached yoonbum and asked what happened to him and if he was okay.

Yoonbum immediately hugged it and said

YoonBum: don't leave me, just stay by my side please (and hugged again)

and the person replied and said (okay)

and he also hugged Yoonbum back to calm him down

then Yoonbum suddenly kissed him

and fell asleep again
