Will's Tavern

After completing the tasks assigned to us by Will, we all headed to our cells, I'd rather call it a cell than a room. We girls went ahead first, while Will personally led the boys to their room. I guess he wasn't going to allow us to have any interaction with the boys. After settling down in the room, we each took turns to wash up, while washing up, my stomach grumbled since I haven't had anything to eat apart from the stale bread given to us on the ship two days ago.

After what seemed like hours to me, the door finally opened and Will welcomed himself in, while the boys stayed at the door, we walked through a pathway which led us to the tavern. When Will opened the door, the tavern was a complete mess, the floors were stained with drinks which made the floor sticky, cigarette ashes everywhere, leftover food on the tables, dirty dishes and the worst part of it all was the smell of cigarettes and beer lingering in the air, and the windows weren't even opened so we were stuck with the smell. “Help yourselves with the leftovers, I ain't got no extra money to feed five mouths. Get this place clean before the customers arrive in the evening. I'm heading out, so don't even think of escaping, the doors and windows are all locked and don't even think of screaming for help” Will said as he turned and took a cigarette before leaving us all alone.

“Hum…. I'm Evan and beside me are Lancelot and Ryan. It's…hum…nice meeting you guys. Let's get some food in our stomach and get the job done before Will comes back.” The boy introduced himself as Evan, he had long brown wavy hair and Lancelot had mid length black hair while Ryan had red hair. Ryan's hair reminded me of the red foxes that I often saw around the woods before reaching the village. I began to wonder what Evan meant by “nice meeting you guys” . What exactly was nice about being held captive against our will? I brushed it off since he was trying to be friendly.

Hunger had the best of me, so I headed to one of the tables, took a seat and had a bite of the leftover beans and bread. The others did the same and sat at the table of their choice. “I'm Ewa, I was taken by raiders from my village and got sold here” I said, while having beans. “I'm Lia and I got kidnapped while traveling with my family”, “and I'm Becca, just an unlucky orphan who wants to explore but ended up kidnapped” Becca said as she smiled. Evan and Lancelot both turned to Raylnn expecting an introduction but she just turned and continued eating. “She's Raylnn, she doesn't talk much,” Lia said. “She never talks" I added and Becca just giggled.

“Lancelot’s the name, just a homeless kid, nothing more” Lancelot said as he drank the water on the table, “Evan, homeless too. Will said he had a job that would take me off the streets, but I should have known better and that's how I ended up here” Evan said.
