CHAPTER 1: THE EXPERIMENT

*Dr Helena Anders' Laboratory-sublevel 3, Nightshade Research facility*

The dimly lit room was filled with the soft hum of Medical equipment and faint scent of antiseptic.

 Fluorescent lights cast eerie shadows on the walls as Dr. Helena Anders stood confidently beside a sleek, silver lab table. Lilac Briston lay restrained upon it, her wrists and ankles secured with durable straps. The table surface was cool against her skin, a stark Contrast to the fear simmering within her.

Dr. Helena (Voice firm, eyes gleaming with intensity) hisses, "Today, Lilac, we embark on the culmination of my life's work. The serum I've developed will awaken your Dormant abilities, unlocking the true potential within your bloodline. This breakthrough will revolutionize our understanding of Genetics and Magic. "

Lilac struggles against the strains, her face pale with fear. She had always known she was different, but never imagined her uniqueness would lead to this Terrific experiment.

Lilac Stutters," What potential?! Stop this damn twisted experiment. I don't want any part of your sinister plan!"

Dr. Anders expression remained impassive, but a Hint of curiosity flickered in her eyes.

She dismissed Lilac's pleas with a wave of her manicured hand. "Nonsense, Lilac. Your naive resistance only strengthens my conviction. You know, your parents'' disappearance is nearly coincidence. With your unique bloodline—inherited from your mysterious ancestors—you hold the genetic keys to unlocking Dormant powers. "

Lilac's mind Racing, she recalled fragments of her troubled past.

She was only 5 years old when her parents disappeared. She was abandoned by her uncle and aunt and placed in 'St. Mary Orphanage'. Her early memories kept haunting her in her dreadful dreams. A woman with long curly brown hair (possibly her mother?) Singing soothing Lullabies. A man with a kind smile (possibly her father?) reading enchanting stories.

Just after a year, a fire broke out in the orphanage and people of Helena took Lilac with them in the research Center.

As she grew older, nightmares full of dark visions of Ancient forest and eerie creatures began haunting her more and more. Objects around her keep moving on their own.

Dr. Anders Continued, " With your bloodline, Lilac, we will unlock access to 'TENEBROUS REALM', a hidden dimension beyond mortal reach. And within this realm lies, 'EREBUS TEAR', an Ancient artifact granting immense power and eternal life. "

Lilac's eyes widened in horror as Dr. Anders nodded to her assistants. They moved forward preparing a Large syringe filled with glowing purple liquid—the serum.

"This serum will synchronize your genetic Code with Tenebrous realm's Signature... Permanently binding you to its power. "

Lilac struggled violently against the restraints as Dr. Anders reached for her Arm. She screamed and struggled but Dr. Anders injected the serum in her vein Anyway.

Her vision blurred and expanded and filled with eerie purple haze, as mind Racing Thoughts were replaced by Ancient whispers—disembodied Voices echoing in her Thoughts. Her body began to Glow with soft eerie light—as if darkness itself was awakening within her.

Dr. Anders observed with fascination, eyes gleaming with excitement. "Yes... Transformation initiated. Tenebrous realm's energies resonating with Lilac's biology... Portal gateway Activation sequence beginning now. "

The Laboratory equipment beeped wildly as a swirling portal erupted behind Dr. Anders, casting hazy purple light across the room. The Air filled with distorted magical energies, and Lilac felt herself being pulled towards the portal.

Visions flooded Lilac's mind—fragmented images of twisted black trees reaching towards a crimson sky, ancient ruins hidden deep within dark forests, and a figure—tall, imposing waiting for her beyond the portal.

Lilac's screams Drowned out by the portal's deafening Roar as it grew larger, sucking everything towards its vortex. Dr. Anders stepped back, eyes fixed on Lilac. "The Transformation is completed Lilac Briston, you are now the key...to unlocking Tenebrous realm...and Erebus tear's power. " Dr. Anders finished, her Voice barely audible over the portal's thunderous roar.

The portal's edge reached Lilac's restraints, snapping them like twigs, and then she was being pulled through, her body stretched out like a puppet on strings. Lilac felt her mind slipping away, consumed by the visions and whispers that had invaded her Thoughts.

As she emerged on the other side of the portal, Lilac stumbled forward, gasping for Air. The world around her was twisted and dark, like something out of a nightmare. Twisted black trees loomed above, their branches like skeletal fingers. A figure stood before her, tall and imposing, with eyes that burned like embers from a long dead fire. Lilac felt a jolt of recognition.

"Lilac Briston... Hah, after a long time someone entered the Tenebrous realm. I'm Xandros. "

Lilac's mind reeled as she stared at Xandros, unsure what to do next.
