HEAVEN MARKED HIM , HELL MADE HIM

CHAPTER 01

It was a night unlike any other.

The sky was heavy with storm clouds, the streets barren, cloaked in silence.

A plague had swept through the city, and fear kept people locked away in their homes.

The only sound that dared to break the silence was the thunder that roared through the heavens—until another sound pierced the night.

A scream. A woman’s cry of pain, echoing from within the crumbling walls of an abandoned house.

The house itself was old—its walls brittle, doors barely hanging on their hinges.

A homeless man, familiar with the place and seeking shelter for the night, stopped in his tracks when he heard the cry.

He hesitated . A voice ?

Driving by his curious , he stepped closer to investigate.

But just as he reached the doorway—

He exploded….

Reduced to nothing but scattered dust and ash before his foot could even cross the threshold.

As if something—or someone—within didn’t want to be disturbed.

Moments passed. Then, another cry shattered the stillness—this time, the wail of a newborn child.

A figure cloaked in black stepped forward from the shadows.

A hood concealed his face, making it impossible to tell who—or what—he truly was.

He cradled the child in his arms with a cold precision.

“My baby… please… let me see him…” the woman pleaded, barely conscious from the pain of giving birth alone in such a place.

The cloaked figure responded with a voice like cold steel:

“You’ve done your part well. But your role ends here.”

Her eyes widened in confusion and fear. “Wha… what do you mean?”

The child’s cries tore through her heart as she watched him cradled in the arms of that monster.

With every shred of strength left in her, she forced herself to stand.

She froze when she saw him lift his head just slightly—his eyes hidden beneath his hood, but the message was clear: How dare you speak to me? He didn’t need to say it. She felt it.

He began pacing slowly around her, his voice void of any emotion:

“This child was never meant to be born. By allowing him to live… we’ve shown mercy—to you, and to him. You should be grateful.”

A chill surged through her fragile body. She understood the weight of his words—and the power he held. And yet, she refused to give in.

He turned his back on her and began walking toward the door.

This was her last chance.

She summoned every ounce of strength left in her broken frame, dragging herself up in desperation.

“Wait… please…”

He paused.

“I promise—we’ll disappear. You’ll never hear of us again. No one will. I can—”

But he tilted his head ever so slightly, his body language laced with boredom, as if he’d heard this same plea a thousand times before.

And without warning—without wind, without movement—he snapped his fingers.

The woman burst into red mist.

Her blood painted the room, staining the cracked floor and splattering across the figure’s cloak.

He calmly wiped the droplets from his face, unfazed.

“These women… they never know when to stay silent.”

And then—silence.

The infant’s wailing ceased, as if even he understood that the warmth that once held him was gone, and the hands he now rested in belonged to something far more dangerous .
