Chapter 3: Lover

As Princess Freya was summoned by the King she obeyed her father and rode to his palace together with Thamur and Kalista.

They arrived in the palace All her brothers and sisters and the high ministers are there

The everyone is bowing to the King.

"Greetings, Father." Freya greeted the king

"Greetings, Your highness." Kalista and Thamur said in chorus.

"My good daughter, I'm sure you have already heard about the rumours flying around, We have to do something or the people won't stop dishonouring your name." King Ferimour said.

"Father, rumours are just rumours it does not affect me at all." Freya said with gracious and calm voice.

"Then why do you think does these ministers bowing here for?" King Ferimour said you can tell from his voice he is a little annoyed.

"Your majesty, I beg you to disqualify princess Freya to avoid the humiliation when no one decides to vote her." One of the minister said.

Freya's older sister, Faye slammed the table by anger.. but controlled herself when she saw the king looking at her.

"Forgive my rudeness father." Faye said.

"So what do you say Freya?" King Ferimour asked.

"I thought these people are asking you to cut their heads Father." Freya said in mocking tone of voice

"Our kingdom would be a laughingstock when people learned about disqualification of a princess because she does not have a husband." Freya reasoned.

King Ferimour nodded and listened to what Freya has to say.

"These people are listening to such an unbelievable and uninteresting rumour. How can we trust them if they can be easily fooled with such a trivial thing?"Freya asked.

The ministers bowed lower and started to sweat.

"I do not want to say it so early but it leaves me no choice father, I have found a lover." Freya proudly said

Everyone raised their heads out of shock and turned to Freya. Even

"A man? Who is he? Is he from Midgard? Jötunheim? Or from here in Alfheim?" King Ferimour asked.

"None of those father." Freya answered.

"A Helheimian?" King Ferimour annoyedly asked.

"No Father. A man from Sparta." Freya said while bowing to the king.

And everyone else was shocked by the news.

"Good heavens, A man from Sparta! A born warrior!" The king shouted in delight.

"I'm glad Freya has found a lover" Queen Athena said while smiling

Queen Athena the mother of Freya is also a Spartan, That is why King Ferimour is very happy by the news.

"It is once in a lifetime for an Spartan and Alfian to marry. Someone spread the news that the Princess Freya has a lover who is a spartan!" The king said.

"I am overjoyed." The queen said.

"But, It is also possible for her to lie about it, If that is true who is th--" One of the ministers tried to meddle.

"One of King Alexander's son, a Prince of Sparta. Father I will properly introduce him to you once the time comes." Freya said lowering her head.

"Take your time, I will wait for the both of you to come and greet me properly. You may go now." King Ferimour said.

"Yes Father." Freya said.

"Ah, and also Minister, I've asked Thamur to buy mens clothes to give to my prince as a gift, Your shop has the best quality of silk." Freya added saying it to the minister who tried to ruin her.

"Thank you for your compliment your highness." The minister said while bowing he did not dared to raise his head

Freya then, Left the palace of the King.
