Sometimes it’s better to keep quiet and leave your true feelings unspoken…..

-February 1st-

It was a cold morning, school started once again and the students were getting ready for the first day, some excited, others disappointed.

Kael was heading to his class, as he entered he sat on his assigned seat and looked out of the window, boredom obvious in his gaze. He seemed……unapproachable?

He was dozing off when someone tapped his shoulder, it was his classmate, Hikaru. They never really spoke before, but they got along well.

Hikaru: A senior is at the door looking for you.

I turned to the door and saw Ren, a senior. He was quite short, 1.65. Compared to Kael he was a Smurf.

Kael walked over to Ren, his gaze never leaving him. He than spoke up “hey Ren, what is it?” Kael asked. Ren looked at him and gently handed him over a small box “These are lucky charms, I heard you like those and I had a few” he said in a low voice.

Kael took the box from Ren and opened it, in it were a few cute lucky charms “thanks” Kael said barely above a whisper. Ren’s eyes lit up as he heard Kael’s thanks and a smile plastered on his face. He was happy that Kael liked his little gift, even though Kael seemed indifferent he knew that he really liked them. Hikaru told him that Kael isn’t very good at expressing himself and that he mostly looks indifferent as happy as he may be.

The bell than rang and Ren took his leave, waving a last goodbye at Kael. Kael stood there his grip on the little box tight, he couldn’t help it as a little weak smile plastering across his face. He than entered the classroom his gaze turning indifferent again, but he couldn’t help but feel happy.

The rest of the day passed by slow, than the bell to break rang and Kael got silently up gathered his things and headed out of his class.

He sat behind the school on his own trying to take a nap when a voice spoke up “hey, what’s your name?” It was a girl, her name was Zaira. She was quite popular around the school. Kael just got up and started walking away, Zaira felt frustrated by her failed approach since she secretly had a crush on Kael but he was so unapproachable that she never gathered the courage to talk to him and she neither wanted to ruin her image by talking to the ‘weird boy’. She than stopped Kael grabbing him by the wrist “please, why don’t you want to talk to me?!” She said to him frustrated, but Kael kept quiet. Suddenly a strong arm pulled Zaira’s arm away, it was Ren “Leave him alone.” Kael looked surprised at Ren but stayed behind him.
