CHAPTER-1 DAY-1

One second, I was walking home from school. The

next l was standing in the middle of a dense

forest. I couldn't understand what was happening.

I was very scared. I thought I was daydreaming,,

but everything felt too real. But I didn't get time to

think about anything as I saw a huge, ferocious

beast with two long teeth sticking out of its

mouth.

it's size gave me chills and I couldn't move for a

moment. It pounced on me to attack but I took

hold of myself and dodged it at the last moment. I

ran with all my might without looking back, at

some point I slipped on a stone and fell. But I

quickly got up and ran. But in my rush I forgot to

take my bag with me and I didn't have time to go

back and take it. So I decided not to turn back and

run.

After running for so long I suddenly collapsed due

to the lack of stamina and strength to move. I

guess I slept for so long because when I woke up

it was already the next morning. I actually didn't

expect to make it out alive. I knew that this wasn't

a dream after everything I have experienced. Also

I came to the conclusion that I'm either in another

world or in the past just like in stories.

And suddenly I noticed an awful smell, a smell

which could make my nose go numb. Also I

noticed that there's no animals to be found at the

place I'm at. I noticed that the absence of animals

is due to the fact that the smell is so bad.

Because even for me, a human, the smell feels

really bad. So there's no need to talk about

animals who have a better sense of smell than

humans. I didn't get any name to call this place so

I decided to call this place a 'safe zone' since I

thought this place was much safer than the other

places.

I still don't know what's the reason for the stench

that's coming from the place. Since I wasn't sure

if the smell was coming from the plants and

trees nearby, I decided not to use anything from

the safe zone. My stomach was grumbling due to

intense hunger and thirst. So I decided to head

out for a quick search for food.

After walking for some time I saw the bag that I

missed yesterday, and near to that lay the corpse

of the same ferocious beast that ran after me

yesterday. There was nothing at the place where

the stomach was supposed to be, and it was

likely to be the work of a single big animal. There

was only a single bite mark. I still had a doubt

why it only took the stomach but I decided to

leave that aside.

 The fact that there was a much bigger animal

frightened me greatly. On my way back to the safe

zone, I saw some fruits which seemed to be

edible. So I stuffed some of it in my bag and

dragged the remains of the animal with me

hoping to get some useful things out of it.

It was easy to navigate the safe zone since we

could smell it from afar. After getting to the safe

zone I ate some fruits and took a sip from my

bottle. After walking around the safe zone I got a

stone with a sharp edge. I rubbed the stone on a

rock to make it a bit sharper.

I decided to use it as a knife for the current being.

Then I used the sharpened stone to butcher the

corpse to get the meat and skin it if possible. I

tried skinning it, but it was much harder than I

thought, still I managed to get some parts clearly.

In the end I got some experience in skinning it.

Either way I got some meat. I was not sure if the

meat was edible or not and even if it was edible I

don't want to eat it raw.

I wasn't able to light a fire using stones. I guess it

was because they were a bit wet. I used to watch

TV shows of surviving in the jungle, and they

show methods to light a fire. One method is to

rotate a stick on a piece of wood and dry grass

under it. I decided to use that method, but it was a

really hard to find dry grasses and sticks. And

after doing it for so long, I was finally able to make

it.

I was happy that all my effort paid off. Then I

found a strong stick and plunged it into the meat

to fry. I am'm grateful to myself that I watched those

shows back then. After placing the meat near the

fire for some time, I found that the meat was ready

to eat. And when I placed it in my mouth, it broke

all my expectations, It really had a bad taste. Then

I found out that it wasn't properly cooked.

Time fled by very fast while I was doing all this

Before I knew it, it was almost dark. I found out

that there was only a little portion of water left in

my bottle. Since the plants were fresh and the air

contained high humidity it was possible for the

presence of a water source nearby. I decided to

look for it tomorrow. I used the skin of the

tiger-like beast as a blanket to protect me from

the cold of the night.
