All Shall Perish

The days were getting colder and colder in the village of Hezna, the people started leaving due to the harsh cold they had and are facing. Only a few families were left, deciding whether to stay or go to the capital city, which was quite far away. The lights in one of the houses were flickering with her gust of wind.

“Adal, dinner is ready!”, the woman called out to her daughter.

“Coming!!”, the little girl runs down the stairs and into the kitchen where her mother is. The mother serves the food onto the table for the little girl to eat. “Oooh! Curry! After so long!!”

“You eat up everything, okay? Don't leave all the veggies out, little Missy.”

“Aww, okay mom”

The mother fed her and later took her to bed. As she tucked her daughter to bed she sang a light tune to make her fall asleep.

As the little girl fell asleep, the mother went downstairs to go wait for her husband. She sat down in the living room for hours. The door finally opens to show a tall man covered in snow entering the house. He had rough features and a scared expression. “What happened dear??”

“We have to go, I'll explain everything later but get as fewer things as possible and come with me.”

“Okay dear”

The mother runs around getting a few clothes, stuffing it into a bag and was about to go upstairs when the door flew open. She turned to see who it was to see a big, dark, scary creature growling at them. It looked like a huge wolf, but it almost seemed like a human…

Its eyes were of crimson color, but it shined like gold in the dark. "Piert-!", before she could finish, the creature slammed him towards the kitchen. The impact makes him stick to the ceiling, with blood splattered all over the room and some on the woman's face. Knives sticking out of him, the woman shrieks, running upstairs to get her daughter and protect her. The creature makes a huge ruckus, destroying most of the things at the bottom level. The little girl wakes up to the shriek and sees her mother run in and hugs her. "Mom... What's wrong?"

She asked. "We have to go, no... You have to run Adal, and do not turn back! You listen to m-"

The creature barges in again and slashes at her, but her mother blocks Adal and get knocked away. It starts eating away at her mother... who is now dead... The little girl too scared to even scream moved back, trying to get away from it, it tries to kill her too but the little girl slips and falls down through the window. She hits her head hard against a rock. The creature looks at her and vanishes into the darkness surrounding them. The house finally collapsing. Sun slowly rising, the light cleansing the dark land out of its misery. People surrounded the area trying to find if someone was alive... They took whatever was salvageable from the ruins of the house. The little girl woke up fully bandaged from top to bottom in an unknown but really warm room.
