< Chapter 2 > Carmilla

A woman in a red dress walks into a huge hall, coming towards a door with two guards guarding it against the sides.

The guards noticed her presence and their relaxed eyebrows slightly creased in displeasure after seeing the woman but they never revealed it in their faces, afraid that the woman in a red dress will see it.

They slightly bowed to the woman, although it's not visible, if one looked closely, the guards were unwilling to bow down to her.

But everything the guards did was obvious to the woman but she didn't say anything, turning a blind eye for all their acts.

When the woman stood in front of the door, the guards opened it side by side and when they did that, a clear sound of a bell played, implying that someone has entered the room.

When the woman entered the room, the bustling room immediately hushed down.

The woman glanced at the people that sat at the table and gazed into their eyes.

Startled

Scared

Annoyed

Cold

And furious

Those were the stares the people the woman once called family was giving her.

"Why stare like that?"

Finally, the woman talked as she walked towards a chair near the door.

She sat on the very end of the table, far from the people in the room.

The woman looked at their gazes again and lightly giggled, her laugh resounding in the room.

"Oh my, am I not welcome in this house anymore? I still possess the same family name the same as you all, that kind of hurts"

Although she said that, she was smiling like she didn't care.

"Carmilla, what's your purpose? Why are you here?"

A deep voice echoed in the room. The voice was coming from a guy in his forties.

The man creased his eyebrows in displeasure while looking at the woman in a red dress named Carmilla.

Hearing his words, Carmilla lightly laughed as she looked at her adopted father.

"Why do I need a reason? All of you are here, so why can't I?"

"Carmilla! I have no time to play with you!'

Her father yelled directly at her. He was beginning to regret adopting this wench he was speaking to.

Carmilla smiled like she wasn't yelled at and answered properly this time.

"I was bored in my room."

She stopped for a moment and continued speaking with a smile.

"I've started eating in my room when father shouted at me. I was young back then and it has been 8 years since then and after that, I never set my foot on this room ever again."

"What are you getting-"

Carmilla interrupted his father with a light laugh and responded:

"What I'm getting at is I'm getting suffocated in that same dull room every day."

Carmilla stopped for a moment and smiled

"So I thought maybe I should step out on that dull room and eat here."

8 years ago when Carmilla was 11, at that time, her family was celebrating her step sister's 1 year in the house after finally finding her after six years.

They celebrated in this very dining room.

The dining room that day was decorated on every wall. Even the floor wasn't spared and the servants decorated the floor with pink glitters.

The servants made sure that every corner of the room was decorated with pink as this was Andrea's favorite color.

When little Carmilla entered the dining room, her raised eyebrows immediately creased in disgust.

Every corner of the room was bright pink and full of glitters that it was very unpleasant to the eyes.

After just stepping into the dining room, little Carmilla felt her head swell just by seeing the entirely bright room.

And just by that, her entire mood fell on the very bottom.

While they were eating, her adopted mother smiled gently towards Andrea and praised the room for looking good which made little Carmilla's mood sank more to the bottom.

Now that she's in a bad mood, little Carmilla instantly cut off her mother's praising words and spat hostile words saying how the room was brightly pink in every corner and how it's hurting her eyes.

Those words were meant for Andrea to hear and hearing how her favorite color was being hated to the bone, Andrea's mood sank instantly.

When her father saw the changes in Andrea's mood. He quickly cut off Carmilla and yelled at her saying she should've just stayed quiet and it was her fault for Andrea's change of mood.

And when her father yelled at her to get out of the room, she, of course instantly left the room, not wanting to be there anymore.

And that was the last time Carmilla stepped into this room and ordered the maids to just sent the food in her room.

But now, Carmilla suddenly came here to eat because she said she didn't want to eat in her room anymore.

And that's why everyone became suspicious of her!

"Tsk, everything was just getting cheerful and a fake daughter suddenly comes in and disturbed it"

Hearing another man's voice, Carmilla's alluring smile rose slightly wider as she looked at the source of the voice.

"My my~ My little brother must've been joking~ It's not like I chose to be Andrea's replacement haha~"

Hearing the words "Andrea's Replacement", the atmosphere in the room suddenly turned strange.
